CBS released a new report showing who the winners and losers are in the first year after Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill.    It seems remarkably unbiased and that they had to scratch their heads to identify those that are worse off.  Here are their conclusions . . . . .

You are not telling the full story. No surprise there. This is not a level playing field. The new senior and tips/OT deductions time out after 4 years and have strict income caps. However, the tax cuts for the rich and corporations are permanent without income caps. So basically the rich get richer forever and some of the rest of us get a few dollars more for a few years. Typical republican approach to taxes to favor the rich, throw crumbs to some of the rest of us, and misrepresent how the new law actually is skewed against the middle and lower income earners.

the reason by a sunset was built into the OT/Tips exception from tax?   It's so it can be a campaign issue in 2028.  It will force the Democrat nominee for President to pledge that he/she will not eliminate this break for working people.  You can bet the Republican nominee will be pledging that all of the Trump tax breaks that helped workers, senior and families will be continued for another 4 years of the voters send another Republican after Trump's term expires.

Bullshit. If permanency doesn't matter, why give the forever tax cuts to the rich who need it the least? Why give only some, not all, of the rest of us income limited tax cuts that expire in 4 years? I think we all know the answers to those questions.  For this obvious scam, along with the disaster that is the trump regime, voters will hold republicans accountable with election losses in 2026 and 2028.

And that's a game that both sides play. Democrats would need majorities in the House, Senate and a Democrat POTUS to enact new tax law. Until then income inequality in this country is exacerbated by permanent tax cuts for the rich and corporations and limited tax relief for citizens who really need it. THEY ARE BLIND that moving the tax rate back to the pre 2017 tax act would INCREASE TAX RATES ON EVERYONE.     They only want to kick and scream saying the rich.... when it wasn't just the rich.  It formed a new bracket for upper middle income so they wouldn't be TAXED at the rich rate.   It helped the lower middle income people to have a lower rate with that bracket.      These people are blind to that fact.

Whatever income-limited, temporary tax cuts that are accrued by seniors and workers are eaten up by trump's tariffs, trump's inflation, and higher prices at the pump and in home heating oil as a direct result of trump's illegal war of choice with Iran that continues to fester and remains unresolved.  The worsening income inequality gap in America is only made worse when the rich and corporations benefit even more by getting the lion's share of republican tax cuts.
