I don’t know what state you live in, but here in Maryland we’ll have all adults eligible. This is just more bullshit by Biden, like his first vaccine promise.

One of my employees (35 years old) walked into a CVS pharmacy during his lunch break and got the vaccine after calling for the appointment at 9:00 this morning.   Anybody  over 16 can get it in California as long as supplies last.  

But they have to fall into these categories...
Teachers K-12, Daycare and preschool workers, and staff
Health care workers, EMS, food and agriculture workers
Long-term care residents and staff
It kinda depends on your work status. But not any schmo can made an appointment and get it

Exactly.  I know a bartender who works at a pub (full kitchen) and he just got his vaccine even though he's 31.

Based on age alone, one still has to be 65 or older to get a vaccine CA.  Everyone I know that got a vaccine and is under 65 works in one of the above mentioned categories.

I read that the state is opening up vaccines to any age if they volunteer at sites giving vaccine shots.  "Volunteers who work for at least four hours qualify as community health workers under the state guidance, making them eligible for the vaccine."

Yes and these qualifying categories are there most every states - but that does not equate to 'anyone' is eligible.

MARYLAND recently dropped eligibility from age 75 to 65, and the system is in place to expand eligibility now. As vaccine supplies increase, Maryland stands ready to cover all adults by May 1st.

By his employee...Dude probably went to hit a "Rub and tug" and told CDL he was getting his vaccination.

after reading your post, I asked him if he lied to get the vaccine.  He said no, he called in to get an appointment, said he did not have insurance so he would be paying cash for the vaccine.  They made the appointment without asking him his age or profession and told him to come on in.  He paid $185.00 in cash and walked out with the vaccination.  They also scheduled him for the second one.  There is a very short shelf life to the vaccine once you thaw it out.  There have been reports of vaccination sites throwing half-empty vials out at closing time.  Better to get it into someone's arm than throw it away.  I'm sure this is what CVS was thinking.  Many of the vaccine supercenters are taking walkins on standby without qualification during the hour before closing each day.  They use up the thawed vaccine that can't be re-frozen rather than throw it away.   I thought most people knew that younger people were getting it so there is no waste.  Its been in the local news lately.  Last month there were news reports of how much they were throwing out at the end of each day at these supercenters, so they find ways to use it before the shift if over.  

He said he went during lunch, mid-day I'm assuming. They give the shot "during the hour before closing each day", which is about 7pm, right? But he went during lunch....sorry this doesn't pass the smell test.

record endorsed by CVS pharmacy, so you can speculate all you want.  I think it was a pretty smart move.  I would think a successful guy like you would know how to grease your way into places with cash.  I don't find this so unusual at all. People with cash can always get things that people "going through the system" can't get.  Some people on the GD board have already said their whole family got it last month by slipping a little cash to someone at the vaccination center.  That's all my guy did.

I don't know about CA, but in a real business, that might be $40,000 salary and $20,000 taxes, fees, and benefits; maybe even 36/24?  WHY ARE WE PAYING FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES' HEALTH INSURANCE?  What else are WE paying for that YOU should be paying for? As far as I have read, NO ONE has to pay for the Covid vaccine. The Feds pay for ALL Covid vaccinations. I don't think that CVS collects ANY money for Covid vaccinations. I assume that your guy would have to provide proper ID (license?) and such in order to get entered into the CVS system AND the Fed system so they can track him and make sure he gets only ONE 1st shot and ONE 2nd shot. If he has ever had a Rx filled at CVS, even paying out of pocket, he is in the CVS system.  (And he didn't lie to them, did he?)

(CVS can charge for other vaccinations: seasonal flu, whooping cough, shingles, .... Maybe your guy got some other vaccination.)Except your guy went in at noon, not closing time (6 PM or later in almost every CVS in the world).

Why don't you provide a decent health plan for your employees? Or maybe you really DO support some form a Medicare-for-All so that ALL employers (even Wal-Mart) could have a healthier work force. Or maybe you just want Medicare-for-CDL's-Employees so that CDL can make more money on the backs of the American taxpayers.

Imp.  You should just start it out  with, "I have no personal knowledge to back this up, and I know  absolutely NOTHING about how CDL runs his business, but . . . . ." just so we know this is another one of your fantasy posts.  What makes you think I don't provide health insurance to my employees?  I provide it to any employee that does not already have a better plan through their spouse or domestic partner.  You are pretty fucking stupid when it comes to insurance benefits, aren't you?  When I said he  didn't lie, I meant he didn't lie about being in one of the "eligible" groups.  Eligibility never came up once he said he would pay cash.

 
You are still clueless what really happened here, aren't you?  Haven't you ever gone into a fine dining restaurant, slipped the maitre 'd a C-note and been seated right away while there are 20 people waiting for their table?  I didn't think you were this fucking slow, Imp, so I will go REAL slow, step by step.  He called and said he wanted to pay cash and get the vaccine that day.  Some pharmacy tech told him it was $185.00, and put him on the list.  He went in and got the shot, and handed over the $185.00.  Now, WHO do you think got the $185.00, CVS or the pharmacy tech who probably makes $12 an hour?  As you say, the vaccine is free, so CVS is not expecting to get ANYTHING for it.   I'm still shocked that you are THIS fucking dumb about how the world works.

I am surrounded by CVSes. Everywhere I go, there's a CVS and I've stopped in at several over the past few weeks. (Just my usual "convenience store" shopping or getting out of the cold for a few minutes: the northeast had Polar Vortex frigid weather not too long ago.) Every single CVS has a person at the front entrance where Covid vaccine people are lined up. The CVS person has a COMPUTER GENERATED LIST of names and other info (I have heard the CVS person ask each person for name and DoB).
