Why does government get involved in  school lunches?
They have for decades. This has not just been an issue with this administration.
Your post is petty and lame
Many kids never get a balanced meal at home but they will in schools.
Yes, it's pretty hard to get kids to eat their veggies but at least there is chance they might in school.

anyone heard of something called personal responsbility?

The insurance system is fucked up.
I found out recently, when talking to my 19 year old daughter that her insurance only allows her to get one month of birth control pills at a time.
What does that mean for women?
Constantly going back to Dr's for pills and having to pay more money for health care.
I can see young girls running out of pills and not getting back to their Dr's for an appointment. Face the facts!
Young women want to be personally responsible but how can they be when the system is fucked up.
And how many young women have insurance?
Have you bought BC pills or condoms lately? The prices are outrageous.
Kids need their veggies and young adults need  their pills and condoms.

the insurance companies are f--ked up,  but not for the reason you state,  IMHO,  it is because they are a BIG CORPORATION and all BIG CORPORATIONS are "in bed" with our government.  They pay off our representatives,  in order to get "what they want"  whether that be money or a deal.  In return our government allows certain for this to happen for their own edification,  and for "the control of the masses".

Government food in our schools,  is not to feed the children,  it is not of a benevolent nature,  it is malevolent,  in that,  once again they (our government)  have control over "the masses".   With that control,  they use us as the pawns.

It is up to the people to take control of their own lives and the  less you allow "the government" to impose "its will" whether you feel it is good or bad,  the control you have over your own life will give way to your own power,  the more control someone else has the "less powerful" you feel.  We need mom's and dad's back in the lives of our children,  not government.

I have a favorite little parable  Mom and Dad are at the playground with little Jane and little Johnny.

They are playing on the monkey bars and mom says "no, no,  be careful"  Dad says "come on,  come on,  you can do it"  and the children find their own way by having that wonderful balance.  Our children are lacking balance aka stability in their lives.

If we continue on this path we are certainly headed for oligarchy/socialism/communism.

WE HAVE THE POWER WITHIN US,  DON"T GIVE IT AWAY

And not a good rub.. LOL   Reasonable folks who have some knowledge of the principles by which our country was founded understand that freedom in the US is becoming a thing of the past.  Nowadays, one can rather easily find countries that have much more freedom than the US.  A shame.  And we talk about democracy like we are the king of democracy and yet all you have to do is watch the news and know that this too has slipped away.

When nearly half the voting population of the US thinks Obama needs to be reelected after all the BS he has pulled while in office is astounding.  But then all you have to do is analyze who these folks are that want him reelected and the handwriting becomes rather obvious.  Let's look at women who favor Obama... guess what.... he gave women all the freebie HC and forced others to pay for it.  Curious that men do not qualify for any form of BC... i.e., nobody pays for their vasectomy if they want it.  No BC pills, ed drugs for them.  Now let's look at latinos who favor Obama... well guess what... they got to have their handouts too and recently became immune from deportation if illegal.  And then we have the 47% who don't pay any income tax and receive nearly $40k in government handouts... and yes, they like Obama too.  Well guess where that leaves us?  Half the electorate is on the take and as long as a candidate for president says he is going to preserve that, give em more, he's a shoe in.  Alas, a replica of the European mess we now see.  Pretty good example of what the US can one day expect with riots in the streets when the fat lady sings and says sorry all that shit you've been getting is no longer possible because we're out of money.

But the good news is that if Obama is elected, guys will no longer have to donate to providers because since they have the pussy, like the rich have the money, providers will be required to give away their pussy to those who don't have any... just like healthcare where those who don't have it will now get it by forcing those who have the money to pay for it.   LOL

Love the analogy PWilley  LOL    I think  :-)

Have a beautiful day
Cherie

Unfortunately the vast majority of insurance companies limit most Rx's to once a month for a given med, but you can make things convenient for the patient by Rx's a 3 months supply at once for most meds for example if it's TID write for #90.  Many insurance companies allow the MD to get a "tier exception" and Rx #90 for the OC that would give the patient a 3 months' supply Carolina, and this often can be done via mail so the pt. wouldn't even have to go to a pharmacy.

I've never seen a situation in years where a pt. had to constantly go back to the doc to get OC's or any other medication for that matter that they are using on a chronic basis.  Most docs are looking to convenience the patient in the context of their insurance the same way the doc would want to be treated.  I find that gets easy when you put yourself in the patient's place and ask how you would want to be treated.

I agree with you that as I've done medicine all my life the cost of Rx's from Big PHARMA far outweighs their alleged R&D costs and it's a huge concern for MDs and most of us do everything we can to help with  the cost if there are samples or help with the meds in any way when companies offer it.

They would make for cheap school lunch product.

If she has pharm. insurance that covers 30 days then she almost certainly can get a 90 day delivery but probably will need to go mail order. Plans limit retail/local Walgreens/CVS to 30 day supply. And then they limit refills to 1 or 2 before raising the price. It's their way to incentivize you to go through their mail order supplier.

Young people can't talk to their parent about sex
Parents just don't get it.
I am a mother of four and I knew that my teenagers were sexually active.
But most parents don't want to believe it nor can they accept it.
So what are young women supposed to do?
Don't begin to tell me that you weren't fucking when you were a teenager!
Get your head out of your ass and think!
Birth control programs will save taxpayers in the long run and also improve the quality of life for many young women and men.
I'd rather have birth control available to young women then have them considering an abortion.
Birth control most likely improves mental health, too.
You as a man has never had to consider an abortion.  You don't have a clue!
