And yet another lie debunked.

When are Limbaugh, Hannity and Novack going to resign or at least apologize for confusing the American people with their half baked theories and constant trash talk of all things that do not agree with their opinions?

A "fistfuck" moment.... ROFLMAO

"Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children". George W. Bush

Funny, I don't remember the left being all indignant when Dan Rather lied in his yellow journalism hatchet job.

Not at all clear that he was not fooled.  It's only a yellow journalism hatchet job if you KNOW it's a fake story.

Dems tend to fall for stuff, GOP tends to make shit up- welcome to American politics.

I know, I know, you are Le Pen voter, so not tarred by this brush....

So you are telling me that Dan Rather decided to ignore the advice of the experts they consulted, and was fooled.  Never mind the fact that Dan Rather & CBS had been working on that story for FIVE YEARS.  Never mind the fact that Dan Rather has what, thirty years of experience that 'should' tell him not to trust something that seems too good to be true.  Never mind the fact that CBS stood by their piece when all the other networks said the stuff was false.  Never mind the fact that CBS claimed the info came from a reliable source that if you bothered to do 30 seconds of research on Google anybody would discover otherwise, nevermind the fact that Dan Rather has a history of partisian reporting so prevelant that Andy Roony once told him that he shoudlnt' be so transparent.

You can belive that he was fooled, that's fine but I think you are ignoring something because it happens to not fit in with your own partiasan view of the world.

I also think you have it backwards, GOP as much as you don't like them does not make crap up - just loook at this board - those on the left typically call the other side an idiot when they loose an arguent, those on the right stick to the facts & make a well reasoned case.

Are you reading the same board?  I would see it as quite even.  You reactionaries tend to make wild claims and extrapolations that are then "backed up" with bogus arguments.  A lot of poor interpretations of history and actual records.  We tend to point to Bush's ACTUAL RECORD, which we see as damning enough.

Kerry is actually pretty conservative in the real world.  More like Clinton than Kennedy or Kucinich or Dean.

The whole Swifties gig is pretty much accepted as a bogus canard by real GOPers as well as the Centrist Dems

The "Kerry will make us hostage to the UN" is a BS claim, he will merely consult with allies more before going off half cocked a la Bush

But on this main topic you are clearly off in the mental desert of Nothinkia.  clearly he was taken in or relying on the wrong set of experts. Do you think for one second that he thought that he would get away with foisting bogus info on us merely by the force of who he is?  That his presence is enough to make a story stick?

No, he must have really thought that this material was real. Possibly he thought it was re-transcribed, or possibly he relied too heavily on an "expert" in whom his trust was misplaced.  My personal best guess is that M. Rove or his minions made every effort to make the material seem authentic in order to get just the effect that occurred, as this is his MO from college days to now.

And I do have to re-iterate every time- Dan Rather is not a lefty. He is tad left of center, but then you all, the reactionary crowd, have NO IDEA WHERE CENTER IS!  Sure he's a Dem.  But not a very far left DEM.

Real wild eyed lefties are in the Eat the Rich vein.  Rather is too rich himself to be close.

What makes all of us who line up in the center or to its left a bit so worried is that Bush is SO FAR TO THE RIGHT.  Past the basic conservatism of the old conservatives like Goldwater and Bush Senior to a wierd and freaky Christian reactionism.

When Euros are polled and honestly say that they think Bush is a bigger threat to world peace than OBL or Sadam, it's not a time to chuckle over their quirkiness, they're better informed about world events than americans, it's time to re-evaluate Bush's actions.

I USED to be a Nixon/Reagan/Thatcher Conservative- so I do not come to my absolute hatred of the man who soils my country's good name lightly.  You might want to read the Eisenhower article and think about this state of affairs.

But, I know, Fear Factor is on...
