Today is Armed Forces Day.

"The heritage of freedom must be guarded as carefully in peace as it was in war. Faith, not suspicion, must be the key to our relationships. Sacrifice, not selfishness, must be the eternal price of liberty. Vigilance, not appeasement, is the byword of living freedoms." --General Omar N. Bradley, Armed Forced Day, 1950.

Take a moment to thank our men and women in uniform!

Kind of unnecessary, don't you think? Your discourse has been tending towards being less confrontational and personal, this is a disappointing cheap shot. Of course, it's left to my imagination just who you mean by 'slacker'.

Do you suppose that category would include someone who committed to a National Guard committment but didn't show up for duty?

No, I didn't think so.

Puck, you ask "Do you suppose that category would include someone who committed to a National Guard committment but didn't show up for duty?"

It would be interesting to know who you're talking about.  'Course, since you're getting that as a Terry McAuliffe Talking Point, perhaps you neglected to note the target of the much-disproven slander.

that Bush may in fact have never shown up for his National Guard duty.  Bush provided pay stubs for his entire service EXCEPT for that 5+ month period.  And they have only found ONE person, who claims to have seen Bush ONE time, during that supposed service in the Alabama National Guard.

Given how hard that the Bush supporters have TRIED to prove that Dumbya fulfilled his commitment, including offerring rewards for anyone who COULD document seeing him, their failure to in fact do so creates a compelling circumstantial case that in fact, Bush DIDN'T fulfil his duty in the Alabama National Guard.

More doublestandards from our friends on the far Left.  They excuse Clinton's proven perjury, while demanding that Dubya prove a negative.  What nonsense.

Just like Perjury about a parking ticket or spitting on the sidewalk would not be an impeachible offense.  The REAL offense is that someone would, in an organized smear campaign, misuse the government judicial process to inquire as to whether the President was getting consensual blowjobs.  To me, hijacking the system for illegitimate means is the real crime.

The fact is, Bush INTENTIONALLY SEALED the records of his military "service".  And now, we can't find them.  What a surprise.

The government HAS pay records for everyone who DID serve.  The fact that they DON'T have Bush's pay records for those 5 and a half months tells me he didn't serve.

And, BTW, I was merely refuting your FALSE statement that Bush HAD proved that he served.  I am willing to accept the fact that we will actually NEVER KNOW whether or not Bush served.  But how dare he claim credit for service that there is NO EVIDENCE he undertook?

Perjury is perjury, and that Clinton engaged in perjury to deny justice to a woman in a sexual harassment suit merely demonstrates that he's not only a felon, but a hypocrite, as well.

And if you don't like "credit" for something for which there is no evidence, I assume that you'll demand that Kerry give back at least one of his Purple Hearts.  You know, the one for a scratch, the one that got him out of combat after only four months.

Nothing like punching a ticket to preserve your "political viability."
