And so what is the objective, not let the "average American" see the REAL JFKerry?

From the very liberal Village Voice:

"WASHINGTON, D.C.- With the air gushing out of John Kerry's balloon, it may be only a matter of time until political insiders in Washington face the dread reality that the junior senator from Massachusetts doesn't have what it takes to win and has got to go. As arrogant and out of it as the Democratic political establishment is, even these pols know the party's got to have someone to run against George Bush. They can't exactly expect the president to self-destruct into thin air.

With growing issues over his wealth (which makes fellow plutocrat Bush seem a charity case by comparison), the miasma over his medals and ribbons (or ribbons and medals), his uninspiring record in the Senate (yes war, no war), and wishy-washy efforts to mimic Bill Clinton's triangulation gimmickry (the protractor factor), Kerry sinks day by day. The pros all know that the candidate who starts each morning by having to explain himself is a goner."

Daniel Drezner has an article in "The New Republic" that details Kerry's problems this way: "The problem is not that Bush is unbeatable; the problem is that he seems unbeatable when compared to Kerry."

It's truly hilarious to see the Republicans trying to make an issue over whether Kerry threw hs RIBBONS away, or his MEDALS away when he was protesting the Vietnam War.  After all, Kerry was there, and decorated for Valor, and for injury.  He EARNED the right to protest the war.  He EARNED the right to testify that good and brave men were being put in horrible situations whereby they were forced to do bad things in the name of fighting the Viet Cong.  What the hell would George W. Bush know about any of this?

I mean, we KNOW Dumbya didn't have any medals OR Ribbons (they don't give you any when you don't show up for National Guard duty).  Bush is a man who, on his BEST day, hasn't one TENTH the character that Kerry has.  The only thing he has to show for his time in 1969-1971 is the DUIs that he's had sealed in Texas.  So please, don't give us any crap about whether it was Ribbons or Medals that Kerry Discarded.  Suffice it to say it was some of Kerry's many decorations for Valor and Accomplishment in actual battle.  Something Dumbya wouldn't know if he tripped over it in his dress-up flight suit.

Kerry keeps providing all the parody this election can handle!  Thousand dollar haircuts (a real man of the people) notwithstanding!

Everytime I read a post from Puck or Sdstud, I have this mental  image of Homer Simpson going "dohh"!

I just E-mailed a very nasty and mean-spirited letter to the Village Voice editor regarding James Ridgeway.  I signed it, and gave them my phone number and E-mail address.  Hope they publish it, I put Ridgeway in his place.

to the average American.

One of the best things that could have happened for Kerry.

First, it's the media making an issue of it, not Republicans.

And the issue wasn't that he did (though it should be).  The issue is lying about it, which has been proven.

This guy is starting to sound a lot like Slick Willie.

"Slick Johnnie," anyone?

They're his, he earned them, so he has every right to treat them anyway he pleases. Most people who serve for any length of time have their medals, badges and other mementos displayed in a frame on the wall or on a "I love me" shelf in their home. Other Vets may throw them in a box in the attic. If someone wants to toss their medals in a creek, no one else has a right to complain about it. I personally believe that awards earned in combat are most often the result of team effort, and disrepecting those particular awards minimizes the efforts and sacrifices of the brothers that fought beside you.

The problem that Kerry is facing is that there are several different versions of the story and he has not been able to offer a clear and consistent version of what occured, and that makes it appear as though he's not being straight forward.

Look for Kerry to come down with some really serious disease (or injury) to allow him to bow out gracefully from his "presumed candidate" for the Dem's.  Only to have a miraculous cure by December 2004.

Even the Dem's are now acknowledging that they have seen better traction with Bald Tires on Black Ice!

Kerry's numbers hit an all time high when he was on vacation (cussing out Secret Service guys) and otherwise kept his pie hole shut.  Even the slightly deranged Howard Dean would kick his ass now that the American people have had a chance to see who he is, or was a minute ago!  No telling who he will be tomorrow.

ST, what the American people are seeing is a shell of man without any core values, blowing in the wind!  I just hope that y'all stay the course with Kerry like you did with Dukakis.

But the one who is the biggest liability, according the poll results I linked to above, is Cheney.

Check out the numbers.
