anyone reading it so they thought they could do the same with healthcare bill.
Now the President finally gets a healthcare discussion covered on TV. So, in a sense, he is following through on his promise during the campaign.
Yeah, I guess a "bipartisan" meeting, called by the President and, if I'm not mistaken, held at the White House with a predetermined agenda formulated by the White House staff is really going to have a lot of free exchange and across-the-aisle constructive conversation. Yeah, sure . . . .
No surprise that the big televised meeting is happening right in the middle of the final week of the Winter Olympics. Good time to try to get viewers, huh?
The premise that the whole bill being defict neutral relies on the belief that Insurance aznd pharmaceutical companies raises prices and premiums on the sould basis of greed and profit, and that no other reasons exists.
It also relies on sending some of the cost to make it defict neutral to states trough medic aide. If the states are going broke on it, it doesn't matter.
It aides 31 million people who can't afford healthcare on the government tab, many of those have prexisting conditions which will cost 100's of times the premiums the government will allow a provider to charge.
By the way, massive tax increases are part of the plan.
You can't restrict what a insurance company charges, without reducing what drives there costs. And that may be the plan. They want to drive insurance companies out of bussiness so the government is completely in control.
would limit services that could be offered, and in essence criple the development of innovative therapeutic approaches (not just drugs, but new methods of treatment).
The fact that Congress is trying to make a one time fix, rather than an incremental approach. Over a year of talk and nothing has been done. Spend a year to create two 1000 page bills that differ in so many areas, then trying to reconcile the diffrences is a lossinbg battle to begib with. Why is that not obvious to every one.
If Congres took one portion of health care like tort reform or selling insurance across , each month and addressed only that, At the end of the year, we would have already had a new reformed health care system.
Instead they put these monsterous bills with huge anounts of waste and political payoffs that just plan miss the point. Then they claim we have worked to much and gotten to far to start all over.
