Yes..Cards on 5/1/2011, Spades, to be specific and about 15 hands of spades the day that Team 6 raided the infamous compound where they believed Osama Bin Laden to be hiding.

So the photo of Hussein hunkered down and looking all tense is just that.. A photo.. I mean who plays 15 rounds of spades on the day that Americans had been waiting for 10 yrs.

That begs the question? Who was really calling the shots from the Situation Room.. Was it Biden or Clinton?

I was truly disgusted when I heard that...

“The momentum of Asia’s economic development is already generating massive pressures for the exploration and exploitation of new sources of energy and the Central Asian region and the Caspian Sea basin are known to contain reserves of natural gas and oil that dwarf those of Kuwait, the Gulf of Mexico, or the North Sea….” (p.125)

"But the Eurasian Balkans are infinitely more important as a potential economic prize: an enormous concentration of natural gas and oil reserves is located in the region, in addition to important minerals, including gold….” (p.124)

“It follows that America’s primary interest is to help ensure that no single power comes to control this geopolitical space and that the global community has unhindered financial and economic access to it….” (p148)

“Two basic steps are thus required: first, to identify the geostrategically dynamic Eurasian states that have the power to cause a potentially important shift in the international distribution of power and to decipher the central external goals of their respective political elites and the likely consequences of their seeking to attain them;… second, to formulate specific U.S. policies to offset, co-opt, and/or control the above…” (p. 40)

“The technotronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values. Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and maintain up-to-date complete files containing even the most personal information about the citizen. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities. ”
― Zbigniew Brzezinski, Between Two Ages: America's Role in the Technetronic Era, 1970

“Another threat, less overt but no less basic, confronts liberal democracy. More directly linked to the impact of technology, it involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled and directed society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite whose claim to political power would rest on allegedly superior scientific knowhow. Unhindered by the restraints of traditional liberal values, this elite would not hesitate to achieve its political ends by using the latest modern techniques for influencing public behavior and keeping society under close surveillance and control. Under such circumstances, the scientific and technological momentum of the country would not be reversed but would actually feed on the situation it exploits.

… Persisting social crisis, the emergence of a charismatic personality, and the exploitation of mass media to obtain public confidence would be the steppingstones in the piecemeal transformation of the United States into a highly controlled society.

I wouldn’t want a civilian without any military training or war strategy calling the shots, POTUS or not. Neither would the personnel in harms way.

Curly, you are smarter than this BS. But, I do understand rightwing nut jobs trying to fit in here since majority here self proclaimed right wing nuts with a trace of racism when it comes to our current POTUS.

Many are life long members of the Trump club of idiots.

I like to know who this fucking aid who made this allegation, can’t seem to find his damn name

Obama was clearly photoshoped into this picture.  Why is he not siting in the Commander and Chief's chair?

Commander in Chief doesn’t mean the POTUS directs all military ops. As matter fact, POTUS only agree/disagree and go or no go.

Military operations are not controlled by the POTUS. We all know what happened in Iraq, when the administration didn’t listen to the general and send in too little troops.

I understand that, it is unreasonable to expect rational thinking from Republicans these days.

But even I consider this a non story, and not worth our time debating. The job of the CIC is basically to "be in charge" not micro manage operations where he clearly is not the most qualified to do so. I have many issues with this POTUS, but playing a couple of hands of cards to "decompress" is hardly one of them

Got the Soviets out, ended up destroying country, gave it to the Taliban and the monster came back at us with vengeance. We spent more blood and money to take him out.

What a great strategy?

This is what happens when put your head in places where it doesn’t need to be.

Credit Reagan for defeating the Soviets. What is the overall benefit to the world or the US?

Or were you asking what the "benefits" are for the average US citizen?? Lol.

“The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. Hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. This new version is the past and no different past can ever have existed. In principle the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or East Asia, but to keep the very structure of society intact.” -George Orwell

Our present day map looks a little different, but you get the point.

Absolutely correct, wars are essential to sustain hierarchical societies. Peaceful coexistence will shatter it.
