He is referring to voting information that more degreed people now vote for the Dems. Stop spinning.
Then there is the cliche..."hand up, not a hand out". Ahhhh. Gotta love those VALUES! You know those Dems...handouts, "tax and spend", liberals, tree huggers...and fag lovers!
Get them up against the wall...
Now that the election is over should'nt each and every state be a

The only problem with your 145 year old analogy is that the "free" states were generally Republican, and the "slave" states were generally Democrat.
Even as late as the 1960's when Racial Civil Rights finally passed into statutory law, it was the Republicans that were responsible for it's passage. It was generally the Democrats that fought against the bill. Far more Republicans voted for passage than did Democrats.
That a Republican freed the slaves.
That the Republicans voted over the objections of the Democratic controlled House & Senate for the civil rights legislation of the 60's.
You really should learn some history. The map you put up showing the slave states, hmmm, at that time they were under the controll of the democrats. So what you are really saying is that the democratic south favord slavery. Hmmmm, your ignorance is showing.
The fact that the Republican party has TOTALLY changed its policies and so has the Democratic party ought to have gotten through to you- but clearly it has not.
Many parties change over time. The consrvative party in England was once known as the Liberals because its platform was what is known as classical liberalism- basic free market democracy. What was a liberal idea then is not a conservative one as progressivism has changed.
The GOP had COMPLETELY ABANDONED "Social Justice". The Dems have COMPLETELY ABANDONED "state rights".
History marches on. I for one, having just read about the latest book on Lincoln that make a pretty convincing case for his homosexuality, believe that Lincoln would find today's GOP reprehensible, callous, reckless, and without merit. Their (your) barely concealed racism and just plain ole meanspiritedness toward the poor and weak would anger him, I think. And their totally vicious and slimy attack on people of his orientation is just so morally bankrupt.
On the other hand Jefferson Davis would be revulsed by the Democrat's plunge toward progressivism and racial equality. He'd be looking to the GOP as his party now!
The Democratic south DID favour slavery, you ninny! They fought for it and southern democrats only abandoned reacism in the 50's and 60's !
you really are incredibly weak on the real understanding of history. It is a living thing- an amorphous passage of time that HAPPENS, not some immutable codified thing.
NOW the GOP is the party of Business, Xenophobia, and reaction. The party that is proud to go it alone in the world and ignore our allies' knowledge and experience in many parts of the world. The party of America first-fuck the rest. the party of environmental ignorance. the party of faith over science, both physical and social.
The shoe fits. Wear it with pride. you earned it and claim that it suits you.
Just don't be shocked when the overwhelming majority of people with an degree or a passport THINK LESS OF YOU FOR IT! Isn't this what you wanted?
..."people with an degree or a passport..."
Oh it's the same old argument - I disagree with you so therefore you must be an idiot. Gee, that's origninal.
Just so happens that when you get rid of one master - often times you replace it with another. People by and large on the right favor a hand up - not a hand out as those on the left seem to favor.
If make someone dependant on handouts like we have been doing - it's just another form of bondage & the power is transfered from those sitting on plantation porches to the democratic leadership that are the new 'masters'.
Still trying to figure out if there is a point in this last post of what.
I did not say you are an idiot- although I do largely think it. But it is a fact that people with either a degree or a passport DID overwhelmingly vote Blue. these people are NOT smarter than the others- but they are MUCH MORE INFORMED /AWARE of the true nature of the world around them.
I trust you will see that I have taken to using the informed/ignorant pardigm instead of the smart/stupid one.
And the GOP is NOT about a hand up- it is about saying- I have gotten mine- now how can we get rid of the ladder altogether?
I do not claim to be the best or most eloquent person here- but a bowl of shrimp probably has the chops to best you in an argument.
Best to leave all this arguin' to the others- twatman- you're peein' into the wind.
BTW- The rural population claim to be hardy independant folk- but they suck at the Govt Teet more than the city folk! Let's turn off the TVA and see those bumpkins muddle through!

Get them up against the wall...
Here goes SCULLY again with his political rhetoric...
You talk about "degrees and passports" as if every GOP is a born and bread hick straight from the south. You have in fact told me to "get educated, and to get a passport" in previous posts with the implication that I have only 2 teeth and have never left my own town (I'm thinking you may be refering to yourself).

How about you???????????????????????????????
And yes, I AM A REPUBLICAN.
You speak of the GOP alienting the rest of the world. Who are you so worried about? France? All they've ever contributed is Gerard Depardieu and Pepe le peu, the smelly skunk.
And since when do we need permission from the rest of the world to do what we need to do?
You're the one that needs to wake up.

Voted for Bush
None of this crap matters. Go find something productive to do like finding a decent candidate.
... it has jettisoned its history. Same with the democrats.
It's not showing ignorance to show the map, which is relevant without mentioning the parties. The parties themselves are the products so many reshufflings and shifting allegiences that they are not recognizable compared to what they were 140 years ago. Only the labels are similar.

it seems the Democratic party is still on their slave kick...
Paint it how you want, if it doesn't better a person and makes them dependent, the result is the same. Instead of harvesting crops, the Democrats now want to harvest votes...
a bigger Gov't to ensure that "public tit" does not get engorged and more funds go were they are meant to go?
I am expecting no chance of the Gov't getting breast reduction surgery for at least 6 to 10 years. As they need that milk to feed the corporate/religious groups that so desperately need US to pay their way. The milking machine has grown more nipples to serve the "Moral Values" crowd.
I think the New Confederate States of America will need some different colors for its revised "Stars & Bars." ![]()
