...despite loud opposition from Texas's police chiefs, who law and order Republicans usually never miss an opportunity to DFK.  Police chiefs fear it could erode trust in law enforcement in immigrant communities and make it harder to solve crimes if witnesses fear that talking to the cops could lead to immigration enforcement.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus also warned the law will lead to racial profiling and said there's "not one thing in this bill that I consider to be positive, nor do my colleagues consider to be positive."  I'm shocked, shocked that righties would rather pander to their voters rather than listen to the police chiefs of their state.

Decrease trust in local law enforcement in immigrant communities and the crime rate goes up in those communities.  So the alt-right can argue that immigrant communities are a crime ridden blight that should be removed by massive deportations, denial of services and no path to integration.

it will lower reported crimes in those communites. I guess if they where here legally this wouldn't be an issue...
