I totally agree... that's the way it SHOULD work!
My Boss has a thousand employees..He pays himself ten million a year..
Averaging out, using simple 3rd grade Math he is only making a lousy ten thousand dollars a year on each of us.
He started the company from nothing and slowly build it up over thirty years of hard work , wise investments and innovation..
When I went to work for him I knew nothing about using a broom as they didn't teach that in my school until after ninth grade and I was then long gone.
He saw to it that I got the proper training and I can now sweep safely and efficiently with the best of them. He gives me a heated place to work, a check every week and contributes half of my Social Security, two weeks paid vacation and he only makes five bucks a hour off of me..
If it wasn't for him I would not know where to sweep for pay..
He has a friend who owns a oil company..His friend is not such a good businessman ..If I told you how little he makes per gallon of gas you would think I am kidding.
I better get some rest to make sure my Boss makes his fair share from me tomorrow..
I Love My Job.
adn needs to be re-educated while his wealth is re distributed to the deserving masses who toil in his factories.
Did I get that right Comrade Willy?
It's much more fun to talk "about" Comrade Willy that it is to talk "to" him. Trolls like Zorf and Willy simply aren't worth arguing with. Zorf is just an argumentive asshole, while Willy is simply a moron, devoid of any real substance.
I guess if people like Willy had their way, Gulfstream, Ferrari, etal would all have to shut their doors, as no one would be permitted to make enough money to afford their products.
I wonder if Willy would also like to steal(redisribute) the ten million or so that Drew Brees is making this year as well? I don't know if Quad boss is worth ten mil, but we all know Drew Brees is earning every penny he makes. lmao
"I don't know if Quad boss is worth ten mil,"
My Boss is worth every penny he makes..
A dumb ass like me would have a hard time finding employment elsewhere..and I'm vain enough to realize I am not the only dumb ass at the company ..
If not for him, many of his employees would be unemployed statistics..
I figure if he can't make at least 5 bucks a hour off of someone he trains and maintains there is no point in hiring ..
I want a Ferrari like my Boss has,and I am just going to have to work more overtime and keep on saving..
Stealing my Bosses Ferrari is not a option..
It wouldn't feel the same as if I had bought it myself..
A man who runs a profitable company and who provides a thousand jobs deserves his just rewards for hard work and sacrifice.
I feel I am entitled to every penny I make and I feel no guilt for paying myself well. If assholes like Willie would like to work until 4 AM, go without pay himself in order to make my payroll and give up the safety net that goes with working for someone else.
I know rhetoric when I hear it..If it was up to me I would give yourself a raise and fire the first employee you see goofing off at work..
I have a low tolerance for non productive workers.. or oxymorons
Cheers..
Damn minimum wage. Can't get around it.LOL Those are times i surely don't wish to repeat. My guys are more than happy to ALLOW me the headaches that go along with running a business. They like just showing up on pay-day with their hand out. And consequently(sometimes)missing the next day.LOL
of the last place I worked, and I had to chuckle.
"They like just showing up on pay-day with their hand out. And consequently (sometimes) missing the next day".
You didn't need a calendar to know what day was pay day. The bowling alley parking lot was packed with cars, and all the bars in town were jammed with people. Fully 30% would not show up for work, guaranteed.
Just don't save up too hard for that Ferarri. To my knowledge, a Ferrari can't suck start a Harley, or give a good rim job. You gotta set a little back for the ladies ![]()
On second thought, perhaps if you had the Ferrari you could find ladies who will do that just to get a ride to the corner store ![]()
Chengster...I believe the question that Willy would be asking is: quad...do I do you need any help in setting up a broom pushers union?.....lol
The question is, does ANYBODY need to make 10 million a year. I'm a capitialist and I believe in rewarding risk and success, but truthfully, would 5 Million a year reduce the quality of his life?
I've argued on the pornstar board that NO provider is worth $2000/hr.
I'd say here that NO CEO is worth $10 million a year! Even more so when you look at all the CEO who make that kind of money even when their corporation is losing money.
who would but luxury items like Rolls Royces, private aircraft, luxury yachts etc? Are you claiming the world would be better off without these luxuries?
Don't you think that someone who's ideas and capital is responible for a thousand jobs is as deserving as the likes of a pro ballplayer, a movie star, or a crooked (or just good) lawyer?
Now CEO's of public companys that lose money are a different story, but if my company ever gets to be a thousand employess strong, you can bet your last dollar I will be taking a hell of a lot more than ten million a year at that point, and I won't suffer an instant of guilt.
GG... I just want you to know, that me not liking or trusting BIG companys or CORPORATIONS, I am not anti business, or wealth...
I AGREE W EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID..
I just think when corporations get to big, they pose a threat like big GOVT...
I applaud you, AND ANYONE who makes it...
Which is the reason that we have anti trust laws on the books. Companies that are capable of stifling competition and companies "too big" to fail are dangerous to a free market. Just like "Big Government" lol
You would probably need $10m a year to pay providers $2k an hour. What could a provider do for $2k per hour anyway? On the other hand depending on the circumstances a CEO might have a bit of capital at risk which would entitle him to the $10m.
So eddie, you're saying Bill Gates doesn't deserve his pay and benefits, even though his product, which he started in his garage, and is used, probably, in 75% of the world's computers. How many of his employees make $10 million or more/year? A bunch, I would imagine. Do they, through their efforts, make your life better? Protect us from harm, increase our longevity through medical research, and drug development, and so on? Who would take up the slack in charitable giving if Gates could not afford to do so, as he does now? willywonka?
I agree that there should be performance clauses in a CEO's contract, concerning his ability to make a profit for the company, or less pay when there is a loss. I've known 2 CEOs that I would like to have seen tarred and feathered, and run out of town sitting backwards on a mule. Didn't happen. They had their parachutes packed well in advance.
CEO's get paid whatever they can negotiate with the Board of Directors. Blame them. Just like the unions. They don't get paid what they're worth, but what they can negotiate with the company. Quad's compadres in the UAW used to get $75/hour sweeping the floors. Now that most of their jobs have gone to Mexico, paying maybe $5/hour, have the automakers lowered the prices of their cars? Nope. What's up with that?
For everyone like Bill Gates, there's three like
GM's Rick Wagoner. Besides, Bill Gates was a bad example; Windows sucks and always has. lol
I'm not saying that CEO's don't deserve to make big bucks... But check Yahoo Financial and look up some VERY big companies and you'll see that many of those CEOs aren't making $10 mil.
I think I asked a very valid question... would $5 million instead of $10 million really lower the quality of his lifestyle?
Like many sports figures, most CEOs are overpaid. Blame the Board of Directors? OK, I will; how does that change the fact?
I'm OK with CEOs getting a VERY generous base salary... and yes, for some of them that means in the millions of dollars, but anything outrageous should be tied to performance.
We can't really argue about Quad's boss without knowing the number of employees, or seeing the company's balance sheet and P/L statement; for all we know the company is in the toilet and unbeknownst to quad, he will be looking for work next year. In that case, he's obviously NOT worth $10,000 per year.
The CEO at my last company had a base salary of $600,000/year, with perks and options, it totaled $2.5 million/year. It was a Fortune 500 company. He was always trying to convince the Board of Directors that he deserved much more. They weren't buying any of it. That's how it should work.
I totally agree... that's the way it SHOULD work!
I think he is!!
