A snapshot from the future of the hobby under Bush.

From the general discussion board.

As I warned, the Asscrossed Department of Judgment is opposing the conspiracy of consensual sex.  They stop you.  No charges.  They just help themselves to your cash and your property.  No due process.  No accounting for who got to dispose of your money.

Does this seem like America to you conservatives even?

Vote against Bush just to give the most Christian prigs most supporting of this a slap in the face.

While I agree that civil asset forfeiture laws (and prostitution laws) need to be reformed, do you realise that the laws have been in existence since before Bush took office? Do you also realise that these same over-reaching laws were enforced in the same manner under the Clinton Admin? And unless they're reformed, they'll probably be enforced in the same manner if there is a Kerry Administration.

Big Government... bad, small government... good.

You make Terry McAwfull look sharp sometimes, Zin.

So, this conservative is going to change something as well established as uncontrolled asset forfeiture?  And what constitutional principle has Yellow Belly ever shown respect for, ever?  (Aside from keeping and bearing arms.) It is not in Yellow Belly's interest to show softness for "criminals" for a constitution that neither he, no his base, are interested in.

No, I don't think it was practiced against consensual sex this way under Clinton.  I don't think we had an Attorney General prig like Asscrossed.  Though I can't praise Reno.  However, Kerry can be persuaded.  He's closer to the ACLU, and wouldn't show them the door the way Bush would.  To reverse this, we can't stop with just electing Kerry.

In discussions on these boards, I told conservatives most persuasively why Bush was bad for the hobby.  They seemed to think the Fed didn't involve itself in enforcing prostitution laws.  I don't remember if you made that argument.  Here's the proof now.  Do you see how that argument is a bit flawed?  Especially when there's easy monetary reward in looting providers or hobbyists?  I wonder which agent got the new car?

I'm sure that if my business was operated in the same way this provider ran hers it would be raided and assets seized.
This is from the article...

The complaint notes Schultz's tax returns reported only $28,717 in income from 1997 through 2002, but investigators found she deposited more than $45,000 cash to an account she'd opened at a Washington, D.C., Bank of America branch in 2002. Those deposits slacked off after she opened an Oakland safe deposit box from which agents seized cash in January.

plus she paid off her 300K student loan and had alot of high ticket purchases... all on her 28K of earnings, get real.

I'm sure the prostitution was the door opener to the income tax charges but you need to be smarter, I guess that law degree was not as valuable or usefull as it seemed.

On a side note is she still providing? as I've allways wanted to bang a lawyer... Its a great hook for businessmen.

How is she going to pay off those back taxes now that LE has already helped themselves?

For federal tax evasion, I believe there's no summary asset forfeiture.  They will seize your assets, of course, but they have to follow procedure first, and the money goes to the treasury.

Only when you run a "criminal enterprise" is there immediate asset forfeiture, and does the LE organization that seizes it get to keep it in house. A license for corruption.

The entire justification, of course, is not to pay your back taxes, but to cripple your defense in court, in total violation of judicial principle.

They pretty much knew what they would find.  She just made herself a very rewarding target.

I guess the lesson is very anti-Republican.  Don't be a successful escort, or you'll get whumped with "taxes."

Shrub & the Feds would be whacking her taxes instead of trying to recover them.  After all, that kind of money is what Dumbya targeted his tax cuts at, and is the focal point of his political base.

If you want elimination of ALL federal laws re victumless "crimes" you have a choice. AND the adoption of a foreign policy dedicated to   National Defense Not International Offense. Don't waste your vote on more of the same two big boatloads of crap!
