In a striking move, the Trump administration - who were recently blasted by a Danish politician over their Greenland plan - is directing all federal employees in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) positions to be placed on paid leave by Wednesday evening, with plans to lay them off eventually.

OHHH PLEASE OHHH PLEASE ! ! !

it depends on how far the policies go.  I think most gay men and Lesbian women (at least the ones that work for me) are okay with merit-based hiring and promotion, as are the employees of color, but I would hate to see this policy swing too far the other way where these people are singled out for extra scrutiny.  As long as the hiring process was color- and gender-blind, I support it.

I have an extremely low employee turnover, so I feel my views in dealing with diversity that are rooted in common sense and fairness to all are accepted by most people.  I have learned that diversity combined with merit creates equality, but inclusion is not automatic without merit, and to try to force it will have a negative effect on the entire workforce.  I knew this for years, but other companies who bought into the DEI mantra of the Dems are finding out for themselves it doesn't work.  It just dumbs down the work force overall.

If a guy comes to me and says he wants a job because he graduated from the eighth grade, I will tell him no, then if he says I should hire him anyway because he has brown skin and came from Mexico, I will still tell him no.  If a person from India asks me for a job and say he has a master's degree in IT, he doesn't have to tell me he has brown skin or give me any other reason to hire him before I do.  That's how merit-basing works.

"On the surface, MEI may seem like a fair and objective standard to evaluate your employees. However, research reveals that the concept of merit is often a subjective evaluation, because leaders can have unconscious biases that causes them to inflate merit with those who are usually the norm for leadership roles, such as white men.  Since white men are usually seen as the default leaders in an organization, those who don’t fit that role, such as women, people of color, or those with disabilities – have to go above and beyond the normal requirements to be seen as equally competent. Team members from underrepresented groups can also be negatively judged as a “DEI hire”, which implies that they are less qualified for their position than someone hired strictly on merit.

Assert a woketard argument with zero evidence. And then wonder why no one ever said, “this town has really gone to shit since all these white people moved here.”

"Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." - George Santayana
Do you want to look at the centuries long history of "going to shit" under white male leadership in government? ... finance? (Madoff? LTCM? ...) ... religious institutions? ... business (Enron? MCI? ...)? ... Or is white male incompetence and corruption OK because it isn't DEI and just another white guy?

No one? Not the Wampanoags? Not the Pokanokets? Not the Naragansetts? ... Not the Sioux? Not the Apache? ... Not the Aztecs? Not the Maya? Not the Inca?

The validity of Santayana's simple adage has been confirmed by many.
