So, should young politicians learn as much as they can about the hobby (and read books like "Turning Pro") so they can learn tips from providers on how to better service their constituents?

G.(for Goniff?) Gordon Liddy she was.  Liddy says the Democratic National Committe was running a call girl ring and when the burglars broke in John Dean told them to bring the list of women to him. One name on the list was allegedly Maureen's (maiden name).

For those old enough to remember, Mo Dean sat behind John at the Watergate hearings.  She was one hot blondie!

Take it with a grain of salt. Liddy is a bitter nutjob.

And may I remind you that G. Gordon Liddy was highly admired in right wing Republican circles until he started touring with Timothy Leary some years ago. From spook to right wing spokesman to entertainer/actor/radio personality. He knows where the bodies are buried. What a guy!

I'll take that grain of salt with a shot of Cuervo Gold, Papasan! Join me for a drink?

Yes. Absolutely.

His book "Will" was an entertaining read and the theory of Mo being a call girl was raised there.  Dean was Liddy's contact in the White House and Liddy spent a lot of time wondering what Dean's motivations were for the break-in, which Liddy himself agrees did not make much sense politically--there just wasn't much in that office to be gained.

Liddy had a talk show on a significant radio station in my area for awhile, going head to head with Limbaugh.  I've always hated Limbaugh, not just for his views, but more for his straw-man tactics, his bombastic style and his gross self promotion.  Liddy was always a more reasoned approach, and is a more genuine and principled right-wing conservative than Limbaugh.  Liddy was able to give credit occasionally to the other side, including Clinton.
