It's more hightech than ours, it's newer, and the kind of weapons they use are new generation weapons, something MANY of our navy ships aren't even equipped with..

All the rest of the high-tech stuff referred to in the article are cruise missiles and medium-range ballistic missiles that only can be launched from Iranian territory. You sure as shit do not know. First there are NO WWll ships in the fleet, they have all been decommissioned and put in mothballs or sold/given to other nations navies.
As for high-tech cool shit you clearly have no fucking idea what we have and we have some really cool stuff. Then there is the really,really cool high-tech stuff very few people know about.
As for them being off our coast.......how are they going to get here? do they have refueling at sea capabilites ...replenishing at sea capibilites? Where are they getting the supplies from? Food, spare parts, fuel etc ?
The US Navy does not have any ships from the WW2 Era. I think most of the Vietnam Era ships are gone also. Also note that those older ships in the US Fleet have been upgraded with newer electronics and weapons systems, so they are just as capable as a new ship.
