Apologize to allow priapus to get to me, I really lost it, losing my dad at a young age made me lose it, I should had been bigger than priapus, I showed my weakness to priapus and those liberal cronies, dont give up fight, look at how the liberals are destroying our super bowl, our reason for fun, liberals mean FAILURE

Dude, I have no idea what Priapus and you have against each other; but whatever it is, keep in mind that a prominent forensic psychiatrist has diagnosed liberalism as a true mental disorder.

Just check out Lyle Rossiter MD's recent book "The Liberal Mind: Psychological Causes of Political Madness." This book is fantastic. Here's a great quote from it:

"The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind ... When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious."

this has nothing to do with liberalism or conservatism; in fact, the symptoms that you describe in your thread seem just to apply as easily to Liorr & he's far right-wing. In fact, many board conservatives ( IE, OSP & GaG ) have jumped on Liorr.

There are stupidly offensive jerks on BOTH sides of the political spectrum, JG.

I just thought it would be funny to use the liberal trick of defining political opposition as mentally ill. This was a favorite Frankfurt School technique. Doubly funny for applying it to a psychologist by training. (*grin*)

Michael Savage also defined liberalism as a mental disorder; but I'm sure we'll agree his qualifications to do so are pretty tenuous as he sounds about half-deranged most of the time.

Yes, I agree -- many of those characteristics can also be applied to some rightists.

The DSM-IV-TR doesn't mention liberalism, at least to my knowledge. But it does mention the following:

Diagnostic Criteria for Anti-Social Personality Disorder (Psychopathy):

*Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest

*Deceitfulness, as indicated by repeatedly lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure

*Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead

*Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults

*Reckless disregard for safety of self or others

*Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations

*Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another

Psychopaths are often characterized by the following traits:

*Glibness/superficial charm
*Grandiose sense of self-worth (arrogance and a sense of superiority)
*Pathological lying
*Conning/manipulative  
*Lack of remorse or guilt (no feelings or concern for losses, pain and suffering of others)
*Limited range or depth of feelings
*Callous/lack of empathy (a lack of feelings toward others; cold, contemptuous and inconsiderate)

*An excessive need for new, exciting stimulation and risk-taking)
*Parasitic lifestyle  
*Poor behavioral control (frequent verbal abuse and inappropriate expressions of anger)

*Criminal versatility (diversity of criminal offenses, whether or not the individual has been arrested or convicted)

I will say this-----IF Liorr doesn't show his moronic face around here for awhile, I'd like to take a P & R hiatus ( yes, I've promised this before, to little avail. ) However, new troll has emerged : Breaker Morant, or, more appropriately, BM----a moronic, bigoted fascist

Okay ... so let's take it to the next level. Basically, there is a correlation between wealth and psychopathy; meaning that High Dollar Hotties have a sexual preference for psychopaths.

Actually ... pretty much any hobbyist meets at least a couple of those criteria. So do providers. (Use of aliases, and criminal activity for example.)

The trouble with the DSM is that it is written by psychologists who are by and large leftists and so would not be in a position to recognize their disorder.

...and I certainly think there's some of that in the real corporate world, but I don't think the DSM has been politized.

Typically, psychopathy occurs most often in impoverished homes. I'd be willing to bet that you'd have quite a few leftists who fall under that criteria.

But by and large, if you have a non-functioning empathy center in your brain, then self-serving rationalizations becomes quite appealing.
