Yes, Gun control is very important.

One must chose a gun that is the correct size and caliber, be it a hand gun, rifle or shot gum.

Every gun has a kick or recoil when fired and if the person firing the gun cannot control the gun it becomes very dangerous and may have unintended consequences  ….therefore gun control is very important.

Thank you

I want a machine gun; for old times sake if I'm feeling nostalgic I'd love an mg42. A good ol' Browning 50cal would come in as a superb second.

For everyday carnage a SAW would be apropo. When I dress up as a gangster on Halloween a Thompson would be dandy.

I fancy a few grenades as well, a nice mk 2 pineapple for the desk, maybe a few m67 frags for daily utility. A couple flashbangs wouldn' hurt either to keep the neighbor's pesky kids off of my lawn.

Now, on those nights when the Po-Po helo is overhead and annoying me with rotor thump an FIM-92 would be perfectly handy.

Oh, wait, I can't have any of thse! Jeeze, I wonder why? Antonin Scalia agrees.

An old Browning 50 cal that can be dialed down to a single shot. They very weapon Hathcock used to make the 2,000 yard single shot kill in Nam.

And the Thompson, if you've never shot one you need to because it's fun as shit.

I'd rather not own a gun, but if the current efforts fail to put a few sensible restrictions on assault rifles and high-capacity magazines, I'm going to get a fucking license and re-claim my ol' pappy's Colt 1911.  Or maybe just a brick...

I understand the nostalgia but since we hobbyists tend to have $$$$ to burn may I suggest my favorite:

but I have to "  if the current efforts fail to put a few sensible restrictions on assault rifles and high-capacity magazines ".

I'm not going to say what it is ,but there is a 1000x more dangerous weapon in every single city in the US and security of it is almost none to medium in most of those places. If it were used in that mall or school it would have been as bad as it gets.

Chicago just went over the 500 mark for murders this year and the bangers aren't using assault rifles with high capacity mags.

Last, the springs that come in a lot of crap sold to the public are just that, they're crap and wear out quickly especially in the 60 + mags. It very well could be the reason that loser in Oregon had his weapon jam thank God.

a Colt .32 Detective Special.  If you were more than 20 feet away from the target you might as well throw the damn thing at it.  I know that purty hand cannon you put up has a longer barrel but I'm partial to my Dad's 1911.  It's not a real old one but he bought it new about 30 years ago and kept it in a WWII-vintage leather cavalry holster.  My step dad has it now because he carried one just like it when he served under Patton from Normandy right to the end.  When he goes, I'm getting it back.

One only has to look south of the border to Mexico to see how ineffective gun control laws are.  Saw the news article of the ex Marine chained to his bunk down in some sorry prison, while the well armed drug cartels create carnage on the streets.  They are not even scared of the police, shows exactly what happens when the lawbreakers are protected by the laws that create an unarmed population.

Or you could look to Canada and see that reasonable gun laws do reduce gun violence, and does not infringe on peoples enjoyment of hunting and shooting sports!

Hey, plenty of revolvers have the same length pipe as a semi-auto. Matter of fact is if the cylinder lockup/alignment is up to snuff they're as accurate as a semi-auto. Accuracy is a function of mechanical tolerance of the mechanism and the ballistic quality of the projectile.

I certainly understand being partial to Dad's 1911. They're classic. When you do get it, make sure you have a reputable gunsmith go over it in order to ensure that it is in fine, safe, operating condition.

Happy New Year.

Read an online article from the UK Daily Mail news paper a couple of days ago, about the violence in the UK since their total gun ban went into effect. Overall, the average gun violence has increased 89%, while some locations are much higher. Lancashire Police report that gun violence there is up 598%. This includes, robberies, shootings, murders, home invasions, etc. Guess the bad guys don't give a fuck about gun laws, huh?
