I received this in an e-mail from my friend, Harry, in Michigan. Harry has been in a wheelchair for over 40 years, but he is not bitter at all. Actually, very upbeat. Harry is a few years younger than me. I was a Staff Sgt at the time, the 'old man' at age 24. These are some of the men that I call, brother. Like Sgt Colone, I spend a lot of time alone...my preference. Not really anti-social, plenty of time for that, it's just that I often need time alone.
