In almost every other legal system, the LEGAL term for what Trump did would be rape. In NYS, the law discriminates between penetration with a penis and penetration with a finger or other non-penis object.

In common parlance, Trump committed rape. In legal parlance in any place other than NYS, Trump committed rape. It is a case of "Trump raped Carroll with his penis." vs "Trump raped Carroll with his finger." vs "Trump forcibly penetrated Carroll against her will and the legal term for that is RAPE in every state except NYS."

And to lester's other post: "She just sued in a Democrat region where conviction was based on political gain." Carroll sued in the jurisdiction in which she AND Trump live and in which the crime occurred. Where should she have filed? Moscow? What was Carroll's "political gain" to be had? NONE!

ABC agreed to make a $15M donation to the (future) Pres Library. Regardless, I predict that Trump will house the library in a Trump property and the first rent payment INTO TRUMP'S POCKETS will be $15M. He will probably convert a janitor's closet on the 45th or 47th floor and replace the "Janitor" door sign with "Pres Library - closed until further notice."

ABC and Georgie were forced to agree to pay ….15 million plus 1 million in attorney fees. What forced them to pay is the fact that they would have had to tell the truth ( the horror of ABC and Georgie telling the truth) at a deposition and then in court, for all to hear, then probably being forced to pay more.
And to call it a donation is totally dishonest because without the lawsuit no payment would ever be made by ABC or Georgie.

If ABC didn't think they were completely on the wrong side of this and were facing a potentially HUGE judgment in favor of Trump, they would not have settled this for anything close to $15,000,000. The general consensus among libs on Twitter is that they are angry with ABC News for settling. According to them, the lawsuit was baseless and ABC News just did this to bend the knee to Trump. They are feeling betrayed.
Rabid Lefty Idealists. They think as long as someone ELSE has the liability if things go wrong, they should go ahead and stand their ground. If you told these weasels that they would have to donate to the fund to cover the max liability if ABC loses, watch them scatter in different directions. Settlement was the smart move. Dems have no respect for other people's money.
ABC rushed to settle after the judge allowed the deposition of Georgie. It turns out his producer told him several times not to use the word rape. That is devastating to the case. It transforms it from an innocent blunder to a willful act. It also proves what a piece of shit Georgie is, but we knew that.
Georgie wanted to blacken Trumps eye and despite the attempts of his producer he pressed on. He didn’t give two shits about the fact Nancy Mace was a rape survivor.
This from a guy who attacked repeatedly Bill Clinton’s accusers.
