I have seen "socialist" used, but I don't really recall a lot of "communists."  

As for socialist, the label is not given just for disagreement.  Rather the label is used when the disagreement reflects a desire to use government to redistribute the wealth, which is akin to socialism.

For example, if someone has advocated a government sponsored health care system, they are likely to be labeled socialist.  However, there reason for this is because that is an idea that comes from the part of the political spectrum that is closer to socialism.

In other words, if people advocate ideas are typical of "socialist" philosophy, they are likely to be labeled as such.

One word about McCarthy.  He was a drunk, and borderingon an irresponsible demagogue.

The tragedy is that he was talking about a real evil - communism - that led to the death of 100,000,000 million people and the enslavement of billions more.

The evil McCarthy was warning about was real. Sadly, he was a terrible spokesman. As a result, "anti-communist" developed many negative connotations that it did not deserve.

WIth all his personal faults, McCarthy warned - in an inresponsible way - against the second greatest evil the last 100 year has known.

Most posters on this board think that they are capitalists. This is a delusion created by the constant propaganda broadcast by the capitalist media.

I am neither communist or capitalist... I prefer "Separatist"...
