for me it was the fear of the unknown  I grew up in an all white small town   after becoming a provider i still did not see men if they were black I was afraid  but with time  I learned  would I rather see a redneck  out of shape  white guy or a educated  handsome  black man  the choice was simple  its not the color or race anymore for me its the man inside  the skin......

A lot? I didn't notice it was that many but ......

....those who do it usually say just personal preference taste in men (of course a counter to that could be you might not like/prefer blondes or men under 5'9'' or overweight men but you see them anyways or men over 70 but you'll see them anyways etc) or the other is bad experience with one yada yada yeah yeah.  The ones who say they don't see men of black/african descent (not all black people are African American) is a minority (no pun intended).

Whatever reason might be the truth or it might not be  imo you really shouldn't worry about the ones who won't see you based on the blood flowing through your veins.
