If there were awards for such things, you would win "Best Use of Produce" hands-down!  If only you had pictures involving bananas.  Hmmmm.

We bought a kit at a houseware store in AZ Mills mall for 30 bucks and it came with everything but the strawberries. I think the Rocky Mountain chocolate store at the same mall has them for sale too!!!

It really is very simple to make it yourself. Here is my recipe and how to make them. It only takes about 10-15 min to make it. It will cost you about $5-6 since the strawberries are in season now.

INGREDIENTS

   * 16 ounces milk chocolate chips
   * 2 tablespoons shortening
   * 1 pound fresh strawberries

DIRECTIONS

  1. Insert toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.

  2. In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and shortening, stirring occasionally until smooth. Holding them by the toothpicks, dip the strawberries into the chocolate mixture.

  3. Turn the strawberries upside down and insert the toothpick into styrofoam for the chocolate to cool.

Very well done Anna. White chocolate is great too along with a bottle of Dom P. & some great swedish cheese and crackers

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory or Godiva both make them.

MMMMMmmmmmm I am craving them already!!!

Thanks for the input...Phoenix Rocks!!!!!

Hey darlin...you can also find a really beautiful selection of huge strawberries..chocolate covered or plain and ready for dipping at AJ's Fine foods!  They are HUGE!!!  Best quality strawberries in town in my opinion!  Hope you find what you're looking for.

Oh, and it was great talking to you this week. Hope that you are doing well sweety...Cant wait to see you in person again!

An extra tip to make them extra delicious: first, soak the strawberries in grand marnier or other orange liquor of choice. Soak for an hour or so at room temperature. Pat dry and then do the chocolate coating. Makes them extra juicy with a kick!

if you walk through most of the supermarkets, you can find fresh strawberries, and usually right next to them, a small container of 'chocolate dipping sauce', which is good cold as well as heated.

thats my suggestion. and I'm an expert at fruit, lol. (see my website)

Best,
Stu
