The point made by Jack under the Gallop Pole's question is true, and I know that from personal experience.  A few months ago I got a call from a provider who was having drinks at a patio bar near my office and invited me to join them.  When I arrived, at their table sat a gentleman who had been a total stranger to them 30 minutes earlier, but car trouble left him standing near their table, and by the time I got there, he was enjoying one of the ladies sitting on his lap sharing a drink, and he already knew all about their work.  This fellow happens to be in my profession.  In fact, he's a very influential individual, and not one you'd ever expect to find sitting in public with a provider in his lap.

We shook hands, I sat down, he told me how lucky I was to know these ladies, AAA eventually arrived to help with his car, and we were both left with a warm memory of a shared experience.  If/when I see him again, we will enjoy a laugh, I'm sure.
