Even without touching??!!  If that's the case, consider me a hardened criminal. ;)

I caught the tale end of a news story about Babe's and one other club gettng cited for 'too close' lap dancing. Anyone see the story? What is the full report?

Does LE have nothing better to do than get lap dances?

Babes & Skin Cabaret, both in S. Scottsdale.  Apparently lapdances of any kind are illegal in Scottsdale, and since Jenna Jameson bought Babes (she already owns Skin) there are a bunch of locals who want both places shut down.  It's mostly church groups & longtime residents in the immediate area who are pushing for major enforcement.  They think it's going to "ruin" their tidy little neighborhood.  I've been reading about it in the paper.

With all the LE activity going on, how can we live? Lol.

Have a super weekend kids,

Seems like Scottsdale's favorite whipping posts, Babes and Skin, get trotted out every few years or so as the "blight" on their idyllic community.

As if they just noticed, hey, we got strip clubs in our town!

As if the smoking crater that used to be Los Arcos isn't a bigger blight on south Scottsdale than any couple of long established gentlemen's clubs.

I've been to both places (under their various incarnations) more times over the last 15 years than I can count, and I can say this with absolute certainty...

If you want hot, nasty high contact lap dances, HiLiter is still the tops!

The saga will continue, sadly-but on the upside, it DOES sell newspapers.

Viva la oppression!

Like that area is tidy....heck the clubs look better than some of the houses and businesses. It is all a show for the AZ Rep..makes them look like they are doing something about crime and those are hi profile targets. There is not as much press with the busting of a crack dealer in S Scottsdale...but have some girl in a g string dance in front of you gets all the old fogies excited. They think they are reading pron!!!

They don't really care about lap dances, nor about the concerns of the low-income neighbors who've been complaining for years.  I'd almost guarantee you that part of the motivation of Scottsdale officials is that there's some fat cat crony who's looking at redevelopment along south Scottsdale Road, and they're greasing the rails for him.  That's why they had such a knee-jerk reaction to Jenna Jameson buying Babes...she would be easy to roll over when the time comes for the big "public interest" land grab.  This past term, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a little-known opinion upholding the condemnation of peoples' homes--that had been in their families for generations--so that the land could just be turned over to a private company for a new plant.  It wasn't even a ballpark or even a public place like a mall or the like!  It's 58 pages long, but the short version is that cities now get to take private property from people merely because they (they cities) believe it will generally improve the community to do so.  (What ever happened to individual liberty being a conservative value?)

Conservatism is about conservation of money, and developers sure have a chunk of it.
