I saw a girl on BP, no phone number, so I sent her a message, to which she emails back with a website.  She also sends some additional pictures, and she's very cute.  Not model material, but very cute, so it gives her claims some verisimilitude.  Anyway, she says in her email response (obviously a cut and paste job) that she screens by having people visit her website, enter their credit card info and pay a dollar.  After that, she'll send a phone number.  Being stingy with my credit card info, I didn't reply.
Of course, this was before I discovered the wonders that is TER.  But I'm still damned curious about how I was going to be scammed.  Was it something inelegant like racking up huge charges on my credit card?  Or is it possible, conceivable, that she was on the up-and-up.
What to think?

Very similar scams have been around for years.  Honestly though I'm not sure just what the scam is either because I've never gone that far. It's guaranteed, however, that you'll never meet the girl.

I suppose it's possible that enough $1 charges add up to a decent profit. More likely the loss/charge would be more.
