A question for the lovely ladies of Phoenix:

How often and for which STDs are you checked?

Thanks for any info. I do enjoy your company but the older I get, the more I am concerned for the health of all concerned.

I get checked every 6 months (December and June) whether I think I need it or not. Maricopa County Health Clinic will do a panel of tests for $20. They are located at 16th Street and Roosevelt. Its the best deal in town!
They test for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis and HIV. They will test your throat, anus and genitals if you ask them.
The clinicians are great! They don't look at you crazy when you tell them that you sleep around. They know I'm a sexworker.
What a great way to start a New Year, knowing that you are STD free! Go get tested, for your own piece of mind!

I am surprised we haven't run into each other there.

I get tested twice yearly. Not trying to be a smartass but why do you think just the providers should be tested?

I don't think that-it's just how I happened to phrase the question. As an infrequent hobbyist, I get tested. 6-8 weeks after an "encounter".

Thanks for the response.

Is it appropriate to ask a provider when she's been most recently tested?

The companion may have been tested yesterday which will probably make you feel safe. The bad news is... you don't know how many partners she has had between the time she was tested and meeting you. She could have had a client right before you that was infected with an STD. It only takes one person. In that case, if the STD is passed to her, you may not be safe.
The best way to ensure your safety is to cover up with a condom. If you are THAT worried about an STD, I would recommend using a condom for blowjobs as well as intercourse. Don't go down on her unless you use a barrier like saran wrap or a dental dam. Kissing should be fine as most STD's don't live in the mouth, only in the throat. (oops...except for herpes....)

You are using condoms, right?

I've always thought very highly of clients who go that extra mile to ensure their safety. I've never felt offended at the request for a covered blowjob....Covered FS is a given with me...no negotiation there...

Great response.  I, too, go regularly.  It is so easy, thorough, and costs so little to be safe.  The clinicians are very professional and treat you with respect.  Men and ladies, take advantage of this wonderful public health clinic.  Let's keep us all healthy and happy and having FUN!
