I think I'm liking this free VPN, TunnelBear. So far so good and maybe only just a tad slower. You get 500MG ea month for free, then if you throw one tweet out there a month (their template), you get another Gig, so 1500MG/mo (FTLOG, just start a Twitter acct already!). :o Turns on and off in one click so you can conserve... you can choose from which country you want to be seen... and you can monitor all it hides.
Thought I'd try a free service before paying for one, since they're all different now from when I used them years ago as a beginning provider. I had Hide My Ass, but they no longer offer a free version. I used to know how to change my IP address myself, but for the life of me, can't figure it out now (that's something that might have changed too, idk). And ea region is assigned different number sequences... But if you can do that, you obviously don't need any add-ons. If TB doesn't work out in the long run, I'm going to try TOR, though I guess it really slows you down significantly, but everything else I researched about it seemed far ahead of the competition. Maybe spread the word so we can rebuild our presence here on TER. They'll never take us out... this profession has prevailed for thousands of years. Surf safely!
I'm using Opera which is a free browser that has a free VPN setting that I use in private mode. It seems set up to automatically optimize the best location, but sometimes if I gives me trouble I will manually set it to Europe. It is fast and easy for the most part. I think I had originally seen it recommended on one of these boards.
Kelsi, have you reset your location on here in order to save your reviews? I notice a small handful seem to have done so. Which I think is great, except for I don't know how to discover where anyone is, besides for searching for area codes or checking the Photo Only board. Neither which are very effective.
