Ok I know that some of you hobbiest will flame me. I am posting out of frustration not anger and hope you can respect my opinion and even give respectful feedback.
I have tried to see some of the providers in the valley. All of them want to have references of providers that I have seen before. Well I have not seen any providers in the valley before and am unable to provide any. OK now I must give them my REAL name, MY REAL address, MY REAL unblocked number, where I work, and my NON direct line at my place of work were my staff will answer and of course forward the call from a female other than my SO to me. All the while I recieve BLOCKED calls from providers who I have contacted, who's names are not real, whos incall location I am sure is not their real home address.
Some agencies even want to put me in their DATA BASE...right. In a city I lived in some agencies got busted and guess what happened to the data base....yep in the newspaper.
Now that may be a badge of honor to some of you hobbists but, to most of us it is called divorce court...you know that is where they take half of all you own and then some.
I know all providers want to be safe...what about the first time client. I have read in here about blackmailing etc. Where is the saftey for clients.Providers are worried about getting busted, so am I. Providers worry about being assulted or ripped off , so am I. Providers are worried about stalkers and predators, so am I.

I know if I am that concerned then maybe this is not for you, maybe your right...ok I feel better now.

The reality however is simple, this is an elective endeavor with its own inherant risks. From your comments I'd suggest your better off sitting on the sidelines...it's obvious that you weigh the risks much higher than the rewards (probably correctly).

Usually I can find a way around a provider reference if the Gent is willing to provide some additional info.(See FAQ page on my website)

I totally understand what you are saying, as I recently went through the same issues.  The way I addressed this is I actively searched the reviews on this site to find a provider who had a great reputation and then contacted her.  Once she felt comfortable with who I was, she was willing to schedule me without a reference.  So take some time, investigate the providers, and work with them - if they are reputable, they only care about your personal info (which included a home # where she could reach my SO), if you screw them over.  

The difficult part as a first-timer is you have to trust them so they will trust you.  I gave out a lot of info, had a great time, and now I have a reference.

I have posted this same thing a few times. I will not post anymore reviews (other than scams), will not give or ask any personal information about myself or ANY providers. To me this is invasion of privacy as well as a huge risk. I do not want friends/family to know who's little blackbook I am in. I also will not reveal intimate details of an encounter just to have someone else say "she would not do that with me".

If a provider wants anything more than my phone number and a place to meet, she loses me to another more accomidating lady.

I guess I am somewhat suprised by the response. I thought that I was one of the few that thinks this way about providing personal information. Sure I can have lunch Danny, but I buy lol

Hey dude, you have a legitimate complaint.  Forget about the flaming.  My problem is that some providers send out blanket messages.  I then stop going to these ladies.  I feel that they should know that in almost all situations like this that privacy is of the utmost importance.  I do not want anyone else to see or know what I am doing.  But, here we go a blanket message saying I have changed my website information and my name is there with all the other hobbiest.  This is really upsetting.  Ladies please do not send out blanket messages, contact the individuals independently.

Obviously, I will not discuss this here, nor through an e-mail, PM.etc.  If someone wants to see me, I usually find myself  coming up with creative ways to check them. I am quite knowledgeable, and can ask details about your work, and I know when you are bluffing.

This is a scary game for *all* players.  Your worries and complaints are legit.

That said, I am one of those ladies who requires references OR your information.  I compare it to when I was internet dating in  my personal life.  I would NOT just go out with a man who went by the name of "X".  My ma' taught me better than that!

As to the work number you are overly concerned about what your co-workers will think.  Ask the lady to say that she is from your bank, chiropractors office, or something else which will defer suspicion and provide discretion.  NO ONE wants to call you telling a receptionist, "Hello!  I'm an escort.  Is  descreetwon there?"

Figure out what you are comfortable providing to assure a ladies comfort, think of some creative alternatives to the standard info, ONLY provide that info (and nothing more) to ladies that you are comfortable with (well reviewed and a good rep).  If she will not see you move on to another lady.

We all should do what we feel we must do!

  Myself along with many others had the same problem. I prefer to keep my sessions confidential. Thus, I get more closely scruitinized. Once you have a reference, there is no need to go public with your sessions.

In no way can this 'hobby' be compared to internet dating. You will not go to jail getting caught internet dating. You will not have a police record for internet dating. You will not lose your job over internet dating. Very bad comparison.

I just want to thank everyone who tbe took the time to give a response, and especially for the kind way it was done. I realy expected some flaming but, I now see your a bunch of pretty good people and all have been "rookies" at some point.
It was also nice to see that I am not the only person in here that is concerned about being descreet and not wanting to give out highly personal information.
