spent some time with my ATF yesterday and ended up doing some serious cleanup on her PC.

So for any who have tried to reach MJ via the blue yonder she back up and running....but anything more than a couple of days old is toast.

However I can attest that as always she's well woth the effort:):)

BTW

I added a link for a great FREE virus protection program for those in need...

This link will take you directly to their download page for the FREE version of the program.

I have had some issues with AVG in the past:
False positives
Spyware listed as viruses that the application says it can't clean
Detected viruses that it claims to have cleaned only to be found on subsequesnt scans in the exact same location, over and over.
Viruses(?) that signatures only show up in AVG scans which it can't clean and you can't find any other information on.

Another free option:

And of course a couple very good free online scanners:

Anyone wanna hear about spyware removal tools?
Regisrty cleaners?
Firewalls?
customised HOSTS files?
Sevices to turn off in XP?
*grin*

Actually AVG is as good as anything out there....

You left out hijack this which is actually about the most powerful freeware you can use...but its a bit risky if you dont have a clue about whats what in an opersating system.

No single program is going to do everything well. I actually use everything above plus a dozen others....they all get 99% but between em they get the other 1%....at least I hope:)
