It used to be fun to come here every day to see what ladies have specials running, who's haveing a party, who's coming to town, who Muffyman or chilopsis are seeing now....but not anymore. Lately I see a lot of bashing, alias, drama and just plain meanness. I hope some day Dingus15 really becomes a moderater.

It's been fun kids.

You know, I have no issue with your problems vis-a-vis the intrinsic nature of the online forum but, as one who has recently been moderated on the general forum, the moderators (including Dingus) are doing their job exceptionally well. Saying it's "been fun kids" doesn't carry much weight from someone using an alias. What a waste of bandwidth. -e

I never had any issues with you, dear. In fact I don't know you or you I. I was stating my frustration with this board lately. And yes I was wrong to blame it all on Dingus (I apologize), but there needs to be a change on here.

p.s. WTF are you talking about using an alias? I have never used an alias on this board or any other board. I do have a set of balls and can prove it, lol.

I can second that!  (The balls thing not anything about Dingus cause I dont know who that is.)

There’s much drama going on here. We have a way of running the ladies off and going other places to do their advertising. But don’t blame Dingus for what we are. We are what we are so let us all try to get this board back to being fun and let’s bring the ladies back. Just my .02 I’m sure it doesn’t mean shit. I’m just a small time operator but I like to have fun and read good reviews and post.

you are not a small time operator...you have are just as big as anyone on this board! You have never been a one sided gent, you have always shown respect to every woman on this board even if she's a visitor!
You've shown us some good humor too!

You just keep doing it baby! You're pretty darn special to me and it's more than the hobby part of it...I consider you a very good friend and I'm honored to be in your company anytime and anywhere!!!

Many kisses and hugs
Terri

PS
I would love nothing more than to have this a congenial board by all and to everyone!

From JOISEY , but this sort of stuff seems to happen on every TER board every now and then.
It is always obivoius who th A**holes are and most of the time those such as you , Terri and all the posters who are respected in the community often run off the jerks.
FWIW - your .02 is worth a lot more

Thank you

BTW did any one see my cousin EasterFollowmeBunny hop by?

Looks like a Newark neighborhood.

ATL, NYC, Other, LV, Seattle, DC, New England, New Jersey, Carolinas, MI, ...He does not get compensated for the time he spends helping TER, we should be thankful and appreciative, and help him out by contributing to the board, instead of whining all the time, it's posters who make the boards fun not the Moderator.

I'm going to moderate when someone posts something meant to cause trouble for troubles sake, and will allow posts that intend to educate or inform.  Communities tend to moderate themselves and bullshit tends to come to the surface.

Vamptat2 - 14 posts in the last 2 years.....you have not participated in the discussions, yet you criticize .... become part of the vocal community, or lurk in peace.....but I'm not going to change.

Phoenix has it's characters - but if you want to see bashing, alias, dram and meanness....go look at Boston, NY or Philly....you won't find them here.

Dingus

I may be completely wrong but I kind of think that there is a big difference between moderating and censoring.  I read a lot of stuff here and i dont post a lot because I'm new and Ill get over that in time I guess but I don't think there is anything wrong with this stuff that should be changed by  the moderator.  Maybe the issue here shouldn't be thrown to the moderator but to the people who are posting because it seems like there are some pretty angry people posting here.  What do you think the moderators job is?

This is going to get me flamed, but since I've been on this board for over 3 years, there is an undeniable difference between now and 2005.

Back then, it wasn't unusual for a post to get THOUSANDS of reads.  That means thousands of people were on the board, and hundreds participated.

Back then, we had a LOT of infighting and drama...MUCH MORE and MUCH HARSHER than we have now!  So, Vampy, I hate to disagree with you, but I don't think it's that.

I just think people got tired of two things:
1.  Reading the names of the same few posters day after day, and
2.  Increased domination of conversations by providers (that one'll get me some frigid stares!)

If you think I'm wrong, go back a few hundred pages and read some of the threads.  Count the number of people who posted every day!  According to the button at the top of this forum, taking the last 6 months, only 3 guys are on the Top Ten Posters list:

1.     terrikares   244   April 2005
2.   CiaraPhx 178 November 2005
3.   From 85003 152 October 2003
4.   anabangbang 136 February 2004
5.   AZ Misty 115 July 2005
6.   dallas4u1969 106 October 2006
7.   Cheyenna 104 December 2006
8.   OverCaffeinated 94 January 2005
9.   chilopsis 93 March 2006
10.   TinaPink 91 June 2004

If you look just 3 months back, you something similar:

1.     anabangbang   110   February 2004
2.   terrikares 104 April 2005
3.   Cheyenna 74 December 2006
4.   From 85003 70 October 2003
5.   CiaraPhx 69 November 2005
6.   AZ Misty 65 July 2005
7.   chilopsis 64 March 2006
8.   TinaPink 47 June 2004
9.   velvetrose 43 April 2006
10.   fast ffred 43 February 2002

I'm not suggesting a causal relationship--just noting a correlation.  I'm also not offering a solution or a policy change here, but Vampy's post is well-taken--SOMETHING has taken the momentum out of this board.

is that someone like me and Ana and a few others shouldn't post?
I know I don't get many reads or replies but If my name wasn't there then the names on the list would move up?
Whats the difference...I don't always start the thread but feel a like a comment what's wrong with that?

When you post something like your list, It sure seems like you and the other agreements here don't want some of us to post here.
Just come out and say it don't beat around the bush!

until i get ahead of you again.

LOL

no what i think his point is that some people bring something to the community and some people leech off of it.

like providers who dont post anything unless its going to profit them and hobbyists who read reviews but dont post any.

dont let your panties wad

it takes more than that to get rid of me!!!!!
but some will say that just posting gets your name out there without the 7 day rule...wink
I've posted 2 ads in a 6 months one in Sept and in Oct. I was under the impression that posting was encouraged whether it was an ad or not! Male or Female!

I'm still confused....to me it sounds like just cause of the list that's why many others don't post...which is totally stupid and selfish on those who believe that! Don't like who posts then, I say move the f**k along and start your own thread!

Post people share something

I don't believe believe that quantity and quality of posts are always inversely related.  In particular, Terri, even though you post a lot, your posts have become more and more thoughtful and accepting of others in more recent times.  Intolerance, however, is what I believe is generally driving people away from this board.  (Drivel is probably the second cause, but I'll defer that explosive topic for another thread.)

In particular, many frequent posters here have become intolerant of opposing opinions, which is ironic, because the last time I checked, the whole idea of a review site is to disseminate opinions.  I've complained before that this board has become more like an AOL chat room than a hobbying discussion forum, and that's more the case now than ever.

Finally, with regard to the Frequent Posters list, I just copied the numbers.  There have always been some providers on that list, since it first went up, but I don't think it was dominated by providers 3 years ago, when this board was booming.  Cause and effect, or mere correlation?  You be the judge.

anabangbang1437 reads

people have been driven away because too many people criticize them for posting.

shill posts, inane drivel, wrong forum, disagreements.. are not posts against ter policy and until they are, they dont need to be pointed out to anyone.

no one wants to post somewhere so critical.

i believe that quality is subjective and i think i'm quite capable of assessing the quality of a post without any help from anyone else and since i'm not the Post Quality Control Director i keep my assessments to myself because i doubt people really give a rats ass if i think their posts are good or not.

however, when you start encouraging people to post instead of criticizing them for it, im going to go out on a limb and take a guess here  --

maybe more people would do it.

nobody likes being criticized.

It will never be as some keep on harping about, just as life everyday will never be the same as it was in the generations each and every one of us have grown up in.
Life and people change!

As I said more than once, until the owner of TER changes or doesn't not accept our monthly dues and encourges us not to post...then accept the way it is or move along.
Terri

you know what is similar about everyone on that list ?

we all bring something to the community and unlike some girls we arent here just to post for profit.

i'm proud to be at the top of the list.

i'm not an economist or a pollster either but i should think that if you wanted to prove a point showing a relationship regarding the changes over a 3 year period of time.. you would collect the stats from 3 years ago and compare them to current stats.

-- Modified on 3/4/2008 8:55:29 AM

Seriously.  Scroll back to 2005 and look at the wide variety of opinions expressed, and the large number of people posting.  Note the hot topics.  Note the HUGE number of reads virtually every post would get.

I would be very interested in hearing your take on how the Phoenix Board has changed since 2005, both in terms of the substance of the threads, and the people.

anabangbang2063 reads

but since i've been here (2004)
i see providers getting attacked not only for posting their thoughts but frequent attacks on their ads. guys used to be alot more respectful and sweet.

i think this is probably due to the formation of several private hobbyist groups who think they can control the whole escorting community from the phoenix discussion board by demanding discounted services in exchange for shill posts and inflated reviews..

girls who refuse find themselves to be frequently under attack until they are run off.

completely unrelated to that, another difference i see between 2004 and now is that there is also an increased agency presence. i'm not sure how or if that has contributed to the board's decline but i am just stating the differences i see.

another difference is that I am now a frequent poster instead of a lurker so perhaps it is me in an attempt to take over the world starting with the ter phoenix discussion board who is to blame for running off all of the good posters with my frequent and poor quality posts.

if so, wow.. .

yet another difference is that it used to be policy that anytime a girls ad or website was linked in a post, that counted as her ad for a 7 day period.. if i remember correctly, i believe guys were unable to post links so shilling wasnt as easy as it is now.

me. Could this be more about who doesn't post? Rather than who does. And by the by , I did not sense attack as much as I noticed a paradigm being given. Also , hammering Vampy for having a frustrated feeling seems a bit much, especially given that he got some dialogue moving forward. It is unfortunate that perception of words written turn out to be so wrong. Amazing you can not posit a thought without jumping into the sh-t pile. I try to not take a huge leap without seeing what is at the end of the jump. Dingus , you do an awesome job and I thank you for the space to have our say. In the end , the board is ours(phx.community), we will make of it what we choose,we will give to it what we want and we will take from it what we want. We've got nasty boys and we have nasty girls, (wow, that could be good or bad)How we tolerate them is up to us.It is tiring and sometimes laughable when someone gets on the defensive when it wasn't about them. I think a remedial reading class could be in order .You think ? Last thought on this post . The 'board' really is a microcosm of how we live our civvie life, invested, aloof , lurking or out there. Just a thought.

find the board the most active when the drama's happening. Overcaffienated makes a  point and I don't know what to make of it, either. A month or so ago I was steered to the national board for constructive conversation as there was no interest in having it on this board, so now  I log on there and see the same peeps posting multiple times a day and most of the guys are the 4-9 reviews posted and it seems like a race between those posters to see who can get on there first and most. I do like our board, would like to see more activity , more people involved .Vampy, jump in some more ,get yourself attacked ,fight back, who knows , you might enjoy the board. Oh, and I am so fine with the shilling that goes on . It is a beautiful thing when a guy has such a great time he is willing to shout it out. And for today and today only, I will shill for food. J

I tend to agree with OC that some people get tired of seeing the same posters over and over again taking over discussion threads.  It could get annoying but as Chilopsis pointed out - it can be fun watching a train wreck!  LOL  And I really have to laugh at the women who get so jealous when they see another lady being shilled by her fans.

saw this shit. Thought i was on my board (ATL) but i knew i clicked Phoenix, Dingus is a great moderator, it is the people that cause the train wrecks. Now yall are up way to early out here so get a bloody mary take a deep breath and relax, i'm going back to ATL or GD now that i have invaded your board yall have a nice day.

dingus is a moderator.

when someone reports a problem to dingus15 via pm he reviews it and removes it if it does in fact violate ter policy.

he is not a babysitter so kicking and screaming and throwing a fit on the board may go by unnoticed.

how many times have you pm dingus15 ?
how many times have you stepped in to assist someone getting unfairly bashed ?

what have you done ?
if you are a part of the community you have a choice to be a part of the solution or be a part of the problem.

or you can cry and leave.

I've only been part of the board (and community) for a little over a year, so I have no reference point from which the 'Great Decline of TER' has taken place.

I think that Dingus is a fine moderator.  Like others have said... it's his job to make sure that the boards are fair and objective.  No unsubstantiated claims, no taxation without representation, no CIA name leaks, etc.  The rest... as they say... is up to us.  It's too easy to make him a scapegoat and the local forums are as varied as the people who participate in them; so to place blame on our moderator is illogical.

I won't lie... the drama is fun.  To a group of people who thrive on living outside the box, any distraction from the mundane and ordinary is going to get our attention.  The same can be said for beautiful new photos of a favorite provider, a funny quip or cartoon, a serious discussion about STDs and hygiene, debates about fetishes and erectile dysfunction... whatever's 'your bag'.

As an observer, I've heard (and respect) the opinion that the board has been taken over by the providers.  This is why I do not post often.  I've also heard that the board should be used for constructive conversation and not just advertisement and that 'Yes, we want to hear from the ladies, too'.  What's a girl to do??

I figure the easiest way to handle the situation is the way I handle most of my life... everything in moderation.

Funny.

So, I guess I'm with Dingus.

If defending my fellow provider or someone who is being unfairly judged/treated is drama, so be it. If I do not say anything and the time comes it is I who is being bashed, who might come to my defense? I feel I owe it to those I look up to to say something if it is on my mind, is an honest post and it may help. I feel we ladies are all in this together. I would love it is more looked at it the same way. FOr now, it is just Terri Kares, Ana Bang Bang, Velvet and myself, LMAO. THere are more I was just being a smart ass.
Xo,
C

even though both plays have communicatons failures as the device that drives their plots forward.

Drama and conflict that comes from people posting about poor communications and people's signals getting crossed just keeps the conflicts alive.

Communities do not grow when some people are sniping at each other because some one wrote a poorly written post or someo one else did not read a post carefully.

Some (I don;t know who) wrote that 70% of human communications is in the sound and pitch of our voices and our facial expressions and body language. The actual words we say are only 30% of what we communicate. So some people need to chill a bit before posting when they are angry.

Vampy,

it took a lot to say what you did. I agree with you 100% on the bashing that goes on here. Its usually the same individuals that run out of their posting quaota & use the negative post to place their link on.
They run that game where ever they post. The cowards that use the alias are simply those that enjoy the negative karma that they stir up.

I liked top ten posters list. It does show who are the main poster's are. Its too bad that it does not show who are the negative posters are.Maybe then they would step back & take a look at the crap they put up here & stop.

It will go on until these bashers move on & let things go back to being a fun place to be. Hopefully these individuals will get thier share of drama & just dry up , and blow away.

Well, after reading all the posts in this thread, I decided to throw in my .02 as one of the many lurkers that I'm sure are out here. From out of the shadows I come haha.

I've been lurking for roughly 4 or 5 months now with only one post on this board. Based on what I've seen, I won't post unless I feel strongly enough that I have something worthwhile to say and I'm willing to defend it. But, probably the biggest reason is that it takes quite a while for the post of a newbie like me to show up, the conversation is usually over by that point. A day late and a dollar short for any meaningfull interaction. I understand the need to moderate new posters though. I have no problems with that.

I've seen drama in here, that's for sure, but it's not unlike any other online community I've seen. I guess it just goes with the territory. It's not really good or bad, in my humble opinion, but I can't comment on if this place used to be more drama free etc... As has been suggested before, if I don't like something, I just move along rather than complain about it.

Speaking only for me, there's plenty that can be learned from this board without having to actively post, which is why I like to lurk. Things such as the fact that CL is NOT a good place to look for a newbie. Some of you people are hillarious! Some of you could probably lighten up a bit. Aliases are frowned upon (hence I've ditched TalkNerdy2Me, which I used once before) Newbies are viewed quite suspisciously...and that I'm totally in love with Aria.. but I digress haha.

Lurking has been quite entertaining, so thank you all for that! I guess I've just been waiting for the right opportunity to participate a bit more... but, if you wanna beat me up (metaphorically speaking! Should qualify that with this crowd ;) )...go for it. I've got thick skin haha.

moebius81987 reads

I love Aria too truth be told :) she is one whose posts i always read. i may not always agree but i always read them. she is a smart lady!

Most of us only look on newbies suspiciously when they do something suspicious.

I never really had to go through the kind of crap you guys do now. back then (2001 gah) we had lists and parties and i was mentored by two rockstars to my great benefit.

craigs is fine you just have to remember to think with the correct head. never forget that first session is as much about feeling things out as feeling things up.

desrtrat2653 reads

haha...excellent advice Moebius8! Thank you. I'll try not to act too suspiscious haha

welcome to the board..hope to hear from you more often, you will get unmoderated...dingus is real good about that!

have fun hobbying and keep posting!!!!
Terri

And feeling the love!!!

1.) Don't worry about the newbie suspicion.  It's not just hobbyists that have to deal with the raised eyebrows when you first post.  However, welcome!

2.) Craig's List isn't altogether a bad place to look for a girl.  I started out on CL as did MANY providers that would prefer not to admit it now.  Lurk.  Go there often.  Get familiar with who advertises there regularly and you'll find a keeper.  Just be careful, there's a lot of bullshit to wade through.  But a lot of entertainment as well.

3.) Alias's are frowned upon when they are used as anonymous platforms from which mud and vile is slung.  However, they are sometimes really funny and I see no problems using them when posting a joke or quip (which can get you flamed by the members who prefer this board be used for business matters only).  Personally, I don't use 'em.  It forces me to think about whether I'm ready to personally defend whatever point I'm about to make.  Accountability.  It's a novel idea.

4.) If the drama gets to the point (and it does) where you just want to stay logged in to TER and watch it unfold, give me a call... bring the beer and popcorn.  Ooh... I make a mean spinach/artichoke dip!  We'll read aloud to one another and dare to giggle at those who take life too seriously.  :)

Headed back to my planet, now.

desrtrat2163 reads

Thank you everyone for the advice and encouragement. You may be hearing from me a bit more often I think. But, at least for the next week or so I won't be around...Lake Tahoe is callin and I've got some skiing/gambling to do haha.  Aria...great idea about watching the drama unfold and giggling at the good stuff haha ;) I don't take life seriously, after all, nobody gets out alive....Have a great weekend everyone!

I'll follow desrtrat's lead and plunge into the mud (maybe it's that sort of therapeutic mud).  To me, this board is highly entertaining, especially noting that some folks seem to have postings all multiple times the same week-day (hmmm?).  There are some people who seek to "establish" and then fight to "maintain" a reputation within this board, which, to me, is laughable for hobbyists, but certainly understandable for the ladies, although the reviews are my one and only source of selection criteria within this site, not anything posted on boards.

Last but certainly not least, I have to second rat's  (you don't mind if I shorten your name, do you, Bud?) shout out of love to Aria.  We've not yet managed to get together (a couple of crossed signals), but that just adds to the sexual tension building up (on my part, of course).  We'll hook up soon, darling.  You're blog is Da Bomb.  You are one intelligent, witty woman (and it doesn't hurt that you are so easy on the eyes too).
