I've had a frustrating couple of days. Two providers flaked out on me. The first is well-reviewed, and this was the third time she has bailed on me, each time with a suspicious-sounding excuse and an emphatic promise to do me right next time. The second cancelled on me at the last minute after I had driven all the way to her incall. She rescheduled for an hour later and swore she would be there, then strung me along and kept me waiting for a half hour until I finally gave up and left. In each case it was too late to try to schedule with someone else. It seems that less providers these days understand the concept of customer service.

this wont be the first and sorry to say not the last time. there seems to be more appointments that are being missed. On the flip side, sometimes providers do have emergencies or sometimes they get spooked. Evidently you dont want us to know who were your flakey providers or you would've already spoken their names.  good luck in the future

By looking at your reviews, it seems that you have had a couple of terrific encounters lately...why not reschedule with someone with a proven track record? Someone you had a fabulous time with?

There was a time when I tried all the latest restaurants... now, for the most part, I find that I prefer to go where the staff knows me, the service is great and the food is outstanding.

I prefer to dine at independently run establishments... You know going in that it may be an average experience or even a bad experience, but there is always the chance that it will be a superlative experience and it will become a regular stop on your travels...

a little exploration leads to discovery of new repeated pleasures :)

now can I see the wine list, please....

Yes, I have had many outstanding meals at wonderful restaurants. Occasionally I like to dine at a new establishment, especially one that has great reviews. Also, price and service tend to be directly proportional, so I can't always afford the fancy, reliable restaurants.

If the ladies you are trying to schedule with have outstanding reviews and they are new on the scene, they very well could be swamped with business. I know when I first entered the business, I couldn't see all those who emailed me. I'm embarrassed to say, but there were times I would schedule someone, only to cancel because I was tired and had nothing left to give. When I was new, I didn't understand the concept of self care and pacing myself.

Add to this the fact that the ladies might have personal lives... kids, school, SO's, or another job... They may have bit off more than they can chew.

Your time is valuable as well...to keep subjecting yourself to cancellations... well, that isn't any good either. I suppose that is the quandary of each individual, especially those who play in this sandbox...what are you willing to endure? Everyone's threshold is different.

BTW, I usually don't like to "beat a dead horse", but something about this thread woke me up at 4am this morning and has been on my mind ever since. That 4am wake up call usually means I have something to look at within myself... I'm reading a book about Boundaries at the moment. Being new to sobriety, I'm learning that I have a lot to learn!

GM,

Thanks for your thoughts. You make some very good points. Since I am not a provider, I don't see things as clearly from your perspective. I try to be patient and give others the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes it becomes so frustrating.

Best wishes on finding your boundaries!
