Ok heres the deal  ....when I came on to TER in August  it was very SLOW almost dead  and   slowly we picked up steam  and have a very active board with I might add so very good writers. {me I can barely spell  and my grammer sucks LOL}  so we have some states that are like we were  last August barely moving  along......so you know how some cities adopt a sister city ? Maybe we could do that here  kinda play it forward as of late our friends from SD and Chicago have been stopping by and making our boards more exciting to read ....is there any interest in  maybe helping out another board in another city?  Maybe our mod  could repond  to this and list areas that could use our help? maybe you visit a city or live there parttime  or tour there regularly that might want our help ......or is your preference  just to keep it local ? All I'm saying is I have enjoyed the help others have brought our way and  even if this  is a lame idea just wanted to throw it out there. I wonder where our boards stand now in the ratings of most active maybe mod  can clue us in to our rating  I would love to know and also which  boards are still struggling  thanks in advance everyone  PHX ROCKS THE BOARDS!!!!!!!

...to Victoria (and others) for turning a moribund, useless board into something very positive. It takes effort and it takes patience and it takes heart. It takes someone with a strong intuitive sense of the values and standards needed to make an online community work, and it takes a group of other folks willing to pitch in to support those values, constructively add a diverse set of ideas and viewpoints into the mix, and willing to help fight the negative things that can (very quickly) undermine the community.
But for the same reasons that these efforts have paid off here, I don't think the "adopt and help nurture another struggling local board" idea can work. It has to be local people who know the local scene and have the self-interest/commitment to help improve it. The problem isn't that folks in those towns can't figure out why their board went totally stale. The problem is getting someone with the right values to put in all the effort, and then making sure the flakes and dolts and flamers and scammers don't quickly ruin things once again.

I don't think another board could handle me and my non sugar personality, hell this board can't handle it sometimes lol

We’ve got our share of curmudgeons on the Chicago Board, so you might just fit right in. LOL

well I know what works and if they are willing to try I would search out their top posters and ask what they think and how bad they want it  and are they willing to try and do they welcome vistors if so  why not give it go ?

TER has done a poor job in servicing the needs of the hobby community in these cities.  I travel a lot, and hobby in a number of western cities and there are alternatives to use in these cities.

understand the problem  looking for dolutions  maybe TER can help with the effort?
