i think smoking in public establishments has now been outlawed in phoenix and all of the surrounding cities so i would suggest you check out the hotels at the casinos which are on indian reservation land and not always subject to the same laws.
there's also a hotel at fort mcdowell casino in fountain hills, az (approx 45 min drive from sky harbor)
and theres a nice hotel at harrah's casino in maricopa, az (approx 1 hr drive from sky harbor)

yes, that's the real kicker anymore, I know just what you mean! But I have found most all your Hilton's have smoking rooms. Ana's suggestion is good to it's Sheraton and they also have smoking but the real kick with that one is they have a Casino not far.
Do you have to be in a particular area of the city, you may not want to deal with traffic depending on where you have to be.
thanks guys..this yuppie/preppie world has become a little too much for this old boy. about given up most of my vices except for one or two...ter and smoking. do not care where i stay, just want to get out of dodge and everything be user friendly. i may be checking you ladies out to baby-sit me while i am in the big city. seems like phoenix is the milf capital of the world.
