I have been seeing one of our lovely independent ladies. The other day she told me she was having a problem with a stalker and she wasn't sure how to handle it. I was wondering if any of the ladies or hobbyists had any ideas besides a restraining order. THis lady has been in the valley a long time just not in the circle of people on TER. I can't give real details here because we aren't sure he isn't a TER member. If you want the details as I have them you can PM here. Thanks for your help.

If she's genuinely being stalked, she needs to get the police involved. File police reports, etc. And by "genuinely" I mean by definition of the law. I don't think buying a gun is going to help her with a stalker necessarily.

anyone being threatened should do is to buy a gun.....period. A good pepper spray is a better option. As a general rule a firearm will not prevent a crime but will simply escalate the intensity with often dire results for the victim (alot of crime victims are actually killed with their own weapon).

As someone with a CCP who has used a firearm in self defense I do not encourage anyone to purchase either a home defense or concealed carry weapon without careful thought and consideration. Once you make the decision to carry you've made the decision to kill (if needed) as well. You place a tremendous burden (both legal and moral) on yourself and will need to live with your decisions. In the end a firearm is no better then the person holding it and without proper training and mindset your simply going to make a bad situation worse...

There is a general pattern to stalking behaviors and there is a different general pattern to harassment type behaviors. Also, within these general patterns there are certain types of signature behaviors that can be associated with specific known individuals or groups of perpetrators.

For instance, it is very significant in this instance to know that the individual being stalked or harassed is an escort/prostitute.

LE has huge data bases to track these useless scum bags down. But, they’ve got to have the details.

Now, I assume that you are not some lonely person who lives-for the most part-a dull and boring life. And, who--to simply break the monotony of your existence--occasionally rents an escort.  So, please do not take offense with me, but Sheika Fatima is very curious: who is the “we” you referred to in your post. Is it just you and the lady? Or, are there others involved in this intrigue? And, why have you and these mysterious others decided not to release the details to this board because the stalker might be a TER member. Are you bored and lonely and seeking attention?!

Releasing the details is the logical thing to do. The logical thing to do is to post the details immediately up-front. This will stop the screwed up coward in his tracks. If the culprit is a TER member (or owner or administrator) and if his/her behavior is perverted, deviant, harassing or threatening let’s expose the sleaze ball for all to see. Let’s do this so the lunatic can get what he or she deserves. Let us know who the varmint is and let’s run his nasty ass out of town…

Sorry for the rant, but this can be serious business.
