Hi! This is a question for ladies in Phoenix or who have visited / toured the area. Insights from local or visiting gents are also welcome!  

I'm planning to visit the Phoenix area, most likely this fall. Obviously Phoenix proper (central business disctrict/downtown) has a lot of activity. I have also hear Scottsdale is a nice area, someone I know who has dual residences in Marina Del Rey area of LA and in Scottsdale referred to it as the 'Beverly Hills of Arizona/Phoenix area).  

If we take that analogy - in the LA area, while Beverly Hills is an affluent, beautiful area with great shops, restaurants and is a very sought-after and prestigious zip code, it's not necessarily the best place to stay and work as a provider in that a) many are visiting and have their own hotel b) a relatively small population compared to greater LA area c) terrible parking d) touristy & congested traffic wise most of the time. There are other factors.

I'm trying to get insight into the best places/areas to stay and host in the greater Phoenix area. I was looking at maybe something midway between downtown Phoenix/airport and Scottsdale/ Paradise Valley, with the idea that I could be accessible within reasonable distance of friends coming from either direction. Suggestions? Insights? Opinions? All are welcome, thank you so much!

I think most providers choose Scottsdale because it portrays a level of sophistication and 'upper crust'  = they tend to charge more per hour that is only 'partially'  justified by a higher room charge.  In reality a Radisson, Holiday Inn  or Sheraton suite is  not going change much by zip code.  Some  pretty nice rooms north of the airport that makes location convenient to multiple freeways and easier for clients from Peoria or Apache Junction, from Scottsdale to Casa Grande
