Looks versus Performance

On another thread today the opinion was voiced that Looks and Performance scores should be completely independent.  Do you agree?  Is this even possible?  If looks should be completely independent of the session performance, why is a looks score solicited for each and every session?   Are we merely asking "How did she look at that moment?"  Should the score be based on how she Looks at the door?  On the couch?  After a two hour session?  Getting out of the shower?  If Looks is unrelated to Performance, wouldn't it make more sense to have looks scored by viewers of still photos?

Your Humble Pollster recently discussed this topic at a gathering of hobbyists and providers.  Why do providers sometimes get Looks scores that widely vary within weeks of each other?  Some felt that it was just beauty being in the eye of the beholder.

Others, however, suggested that a woman's physical appearance is intrinsically tied to her attitude, which is in turn inseparable from her performance.  Thus, it was suggested, an outstanding attitude/demeanor can actually increase BOTH the Looks and Performance scores.

What do you think?

That's a tough call to make because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It depends on what "look" you are attracted to.

The looks influence performance in a couple of ways ... if you couldn't get past her looks to even get to the "performance" part (hey, I may be a slut, but I do have my standards! LOL) ... if she was so incredibly hot and what you had always dreamed of, you'd be at the top of your game and then she'd get into it more so her performance would be better - a win-win situation for both people!

I think attitude affects my experience more than anything.  That's why I enjoy going to the meet and greets to actually talk with some of the ladies I have had an interest in.  I had been drooling over the pics of a couple of the ladies for a while, yet when I met them in person and found out what kind of attitudes they had, I crossed them right off my dance card.  And the same happened in reverse - some that I had not considered or overlooked became "must sees".

I think both can and do affect performance. But what the hell do I know?  I'm just a fat balding old man with a face made for radio who is happy that you beautiful women even talk to him!

I would only add, that by current "model" standards, some folks are rated higher than they should be but some are rated correctly - again only if you look at the "perfect anatomical look" which has been defined. And sensuality is anyones game. Good looking or not. I also think a local community is much more supportive than say when a girl is travelling. So are the local reviews a bit over inflated? Maybe. I mean, am I really going to rate a lady a 6 when I am in the same community as her? That would not be comfortable.

We often use other guys opinions and tastes who are similar to ours to schedule our next appointment. Looks included. And chemistry is binary no matter how good looking people are. I am usually more interested in another guys opinion, with similar tastes, if the chemistry is good. That and charm. Then performance.

And heck, meet and greets do give us insight, but even the most beautiful women can be bad in the sack - even in this business - even ones with a good public attitude. Hmm..wonder if there are any 10 6 ratings...

I thought I'd clarify my position. I'll examine the statement from a couple of different aspects. At the extreme we'll occasionally see a 9,1 or even 10,1 from ripoff adds (usually in eros). Invariably "she was the babe in the picture" and as soon as she got the money she ">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>" and finally I left....ensues.

At this extreme we have a pretty easy differential. Where it gets more complicated is where we have either disappointment over service or exceptional service....i.e the 6/6 in question in victoria's thread. We also have a flip side where service is so good it distorts the "looks" score...and no I wont go there at the moment:):).

We can actually look to the review scale itself....under looks we have "plain = 5" "Nice = 6" up to 9 = model material". If you took 1000 pictures of women and gave them to focus groups of men to sort you'd get a pretty standardized set of curves. The reality (fair or unfair) is that we as a society are saddled with very specific visual imaging in this area. Not saying its right, but it simply is...

Now if we go to the performance grade we have "nice time = 6"...but it diverges to "I forgot it's a service = 9". To me this is a very different and attainable criteria. If you take the looks curve as intended your limiting your 9 rating to a very small subset based on the criteria used....but EVERY provider can attain the "9" score in the much more important performance criteria.

As for your question.....well the grading is being done by men (well most of the time:)). What to we know about the male of the species. We're shallow, self absorbed assholes and EVERYBODY looks better when we're getting a BBBJ:).

How can you tell, during your research, that a provider has a kid?

One kid and it's over???  Huh?  Are you saying that you can feel a difference between a woman who has had chidren and one who hasn't?  And that you use that as a deciding factor in seeing someone?  You're kidding, right?

But if you are indeed serious about that - I have to say that it's your loss!  I have 3 wonderful ladies that I have seen in the past month in mind ... 2 have had children, the other hasn't.  If I didn't know - I certainly wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Although a look can vary for whatever reason, we all have had the odd bad hair day and annoying blemish.  But when the numbers for both appearance and performance scores take a noticeable drive south any reasonable individual will suspect one has affected the other.  A viewpoint that looks are a separate element of the overall package can be illustrated by life’s evolution of experience.  Succumbing to the temptation of eye candy for the sake of eye candy, where sex coupled with limited experience may seem the end all, is but the first tentative step.  As our experience becomes broader we begin to find one cannot judge a book by it’s cover.  Your lover could be an astonishing physical beauty both before and after the event and yet the event itself could still be lacking. This evolutionary experience process will hopefully lead us to the discovery of the intrinsic beauty of our partners where an average look can yield an astonishing experience.  My opinion is sex at its best is a cooperative act of beauty.  Even two or more ugly partners can still accomplish a beautiful act, not that I’d want to witness the effort.  :) For the purpose of the reviews I assume “Appearance” is the cover, the look separate and distinct of experience.  For performance I’ll seek the intrinsic beauty created together where we are astonished by the experience.

expand your horizons a little.....I have it on good authority that some of the best girls in the hobby are mothers.

I can't believe you publicly disclosed your shallowness.

You are right there is more to someone than meets the eye and judgments are best reserved for later.  Numbers fuel this debate and I’ve made this point before but it worth repeating.   The sustainable market entry point of “7 She was attractive” renders all other points of the scale irrelevant.  Its not so the numbers but the associated labels keep us from assessing the “Appearance” in a consistent manor.  With an affective range of only 4 as 7 though 10 and the compunction to use the whole scale because like “the mountain” it is there, is why this issue comes up ad nauseam.   Assuming the offending lower scores aren’t an out right attempt to insult the Lady.

Personality, which has nothing to do with looks, is a must in my book. I saw this very lovely Asian lady in the SF Bay Area for five years.  You would not have turned to look at her on the street.  Attractive - yes, outstanding beauty -no.  Her personality gave her beauty, an attractiveness found in educated, well rounded people.  Performance was outstanding, her peronality had a direct impact on her performance in terms of making me comfortable, her desirous and that brought me back for five years.  There is such a lady here in the valley and she knows who she is.
