I was definitely a fan during his heyday. I saw his televised performance a few years back when he was inducted into the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame. His vocals were a mere shadow of his former ability. Some rockers are able to keep it going for an eternity while others are not as fortunate. I wonder if Neil Young hit the nail on the head when he said, "...it's better to burn out than fade away."

A year ago Christmas he invited all to a Xmas luncheon, which was very nice and generous of him.

Also he took me to a Willie Nelson concert.

So I'm just letting you all know that I do vouch for him!
