Reviewing Question ... Provider/Hobbyist Poll of the Day

So I just had a session with a well reviewed Provider in another market.  She averages 9/10s with a very rare 8/9 here and there and is very well respected and in her market's top 20. The session for me was disappointing. She was on time, looked like her pics, services as advertised, no rush, just blah on my end. So do I chalk it up to YMMV or I was having a bad day and not review her?  I do not need the VIP points and if I write a review odds are it would be an 8/8 at best and it would be her only 8/8 in a very long and successful career. My gut tells me to just let this one lie.

The key question is whether there's already a large and up-to-date base of reviews on this provider. No single review is reliable. He/she could have had a bad day. The reviewer could be a flake or a newbie who hasn't figured out how to convey useful/accurate info. The review could be fake or deliberately slanted for some reason. But if there's a large base of reviews that kind of bad info will be drowned out by good info (although TER could always be doing more to fight the bad reviews, and we hobbyists need to keep fighting the bad reviews).

Thus if there's already a strong review base, and you honestly think you just had an off-day where a high 9 was just a low 8, then no point in posting a review. But if the review base is limited or mostly quite old, and you think the low 8 honestly reflects the quality of the provider (i.e. you weren't the one having the off-day, it wasn't due to dynamics with you personally) then perhaps the review would be appropriate. Quality providers can burn out, or go through bad spells. If that's perhaps the case here, then subsequent review will confirm, and we'll have useful new data. If it is not the case, the subequent reviews will be raves, and the problem goes away.

But while the main objective of reviews is "useful info for hobbyists", always remember that the providers' livlihood/cash flow depends in part on these reviews. If non-raves or bad reviews are clearly deserved, fine. But think twice (as you obviously have) before posting negative stuff. If you have some real doubt, err on the side of not posting negative reviews.

You already know the answer. Write the review, it's what makes this service work.

recently had a vey similar experience from provider point of view  nice guy  but it was just  not a great ebb and flow  we just were not in tune and if he wrote a negative review  based on the fact  we as two people just did not have  that connection  it was not my fault or his  I tried  my best

We all have bad days, but does it really lower her score here on TER?

If she is in the top twenty does it matter if your not the top 10?  If your the top 30, or 50?  Guys, do you really care?  Is the score that important?  To be honest I have 8, 7's & I don't really care to have them removed because yes YMMV.  Were all not going to have chemistry.

Smile 4 me just shits & giggles my friends!  We can agree to disagree.

I have been in this same situation. I had seen a highly reviewed lady and we just did not click....in fact our first session ended in a draw (no money changed hands and no review). We she called and we tried again a month later with the same lack of connection. I never wrote the review because she did everything she was supposed to but we just had zero connection. There was nothing that the hobby community was going to gain from a YMMV review when she already over 30 reviews so I passed.

.... they should reflect your experience no one else's ..... being honest is the best you can do. But if you think it was YMMV maybe add that in the review but nonetheless I think you should right one. It's not about hurting her staus it's again about writing how YOUR date went.

If you think it was your fault that the session didn't go the way you wanted then no you should NOT right a review. However, If you think it was the providers fault because she may not have been into the session with you then by all means you should write a review on her. Just remember sometimes shit just gets in your head. Day to day problems. Job, family, bills etc.
