I'm coming to AZ for the first time for a long overdue vacation in a couple months, and I'm trying to make final plans.  Can any of the ladies out there recommend a nice place to stay in Scottsdale (other hobbyists too)?  It's a little overwhelming trying to pick from such a large selection, so seems to me it'd be best to get a local perspective.  Thanks everyone!

Personally I like the Princess. You can get you won casita. Also the Hyatt is great!
Good luck and have fun here!

SilentB - there are very many nice resorts & hotels to choose from in Snobbsdale; running up and down the whole price scale. I second Sky's recommendations of the Princess and the Hyatt (which has my all-time favorite Sunday brunch restaurant at the Swan). At the higher end I also have stayed at the Phoenician, Boulders (way north) and at the Royal Palms. The Royal Palms is one of my favorite hotels in the world - it has casitas and they do have the best restaurant in the valley (T. Cooks's).
There are a number of chain hotels on Scottsdale road that offer excellent accomodations - but the prices do go up during the snowbird & tourist season. If you do narrow your choices down and require some more information feel free to drop me a line.

I'm no lady (!) but a great spot is the Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort.  It's a great property, awesome pool, close to downtown Scottsdale and has great rates.  It's my favorite hotel is Phx.
