How do you feel if you call a girl (either an independent or an agency) and a guy answers the phone?  When I worked as an independent, for a while I used a male assistant, and I got fairly mixed reviews; some felt more comfortable asking another guy certain questions, some wanted to talk to a girl.
What do you think?

If I call a provider I expect to talk to them. If someone else is going to answer the phone you should put that in your ad or message.

Just my opinion

personally it would not bother me, but i would imagine that most guys would prefer to have a woman answer the phone.

At one time I would hang up on a guy and I beleive most guy's feel more comfortable with a female, this has been discussed in depth with my fellow hobbiests. Personally I now would rather talk to a guy, (sorry ladies) Men are less likly to lie to other men, it's a word of honour sort of thing. BUT if im expecting a female to pick up the phone and a guy does CLICK. This only in my mind works with agencys. Now an Independant should pick up herself or she's not really independant. I just love it when a husband picks up, Hey dude, do you mind if i have sex with your wife later on today?

I prefer talking to a woman, as I did talking with you yesterday and making an appointment with Tanya...

I just don't want to see a driver, or any guy at the actual appointment.

I have had this happen a few times.

When it comes to dealing with an independent, it does trip me out a little, but then I say, "Ah, um, is so-and-so there?"

With an aagency, it's okay.

Im the agency I owned in Socal . I found once I had a repour with the guys that they booked more with me then with the ladies. I also believe guys trust guys more. On the other hand if I called a woman and expected to get her I would hang up on the guy. To me its only respect and dont know if it will get her in trouble.

Maybe that would be a good catagory for the new ter site Ansered by male. or something to that point. Or Independant but has assistant that is male. ect.

So basically if your upfront its cool .But if its unexpected its a no no

For agencies I don't know as it matters, but for an independent, no way.  Only once in three years has that happened to me.  The guy said he was her brother and my little head bought it. Come to find out when I saw her she admitted its was her livein boyfriend of three years who was not at all happy with what she was doing.  You can be sure I ran back for a scond visit right away (LOL)  Girls if you do have a livein or husband, don't tell us, we really don't want to know.

This was one of the questions posted to TER members awhile back.  Here are the results:

When booking a provider through an agency, do you prefer to talk to a male or female?  Results

 Male  5%
 Female  63%
 Don't care  14%
 Don't use agencies  17%

Of course, another question was, do you prefer independents or agencies and the results were, (don't cry...)

 Independent  90%
 Agency  9%

Ouch!  However, I think that we have made a change in the way at least Phoenix looks at agencies!

that you had already researched this! ;-)  Thanks for sharing your info!
And you're right, I hope that the last couple of years has shown Phoenix that agencies do not have to equal higher prices and/or cash n dash.  They are a way to find many girls in one place, with consistent pricing and policies.  And there are many wonderful providers out there who simply cannot or will not handle all their administrative stuff (answering their phones, showing up on time, having a nice incall, etc.) and so without agencies, guys would be missing out on the chance to see those girls!
Viva agencies! ;-)

Taylor,

Obviously the feeling is based on the way most agencies act. Since they are primarily focused on the "out of town" market they provide poor or nonexistant service at a premium price. Personally I think you've gone along way in creating a true local client base as well as a realiable option for out of towners. Obviously anytime you add a "layer" you add cost...however your incall & staff are fabulous and you've really stepped up and attempted to meet "the locals" at least halfway. Anybody who bothers to research my comments here will quickly find out I'm not normally "agency friendly" however you need to give credit when its due. I'm still not agency friendly but I'm certainly TLC friendly:)

Thanks so much for the kind words.  You are great and it is good to know that my hard work has paid off!

I've got no problem with it if I know before I call that a male will answer. If I don't know up front, I'll assume I have a wrong number and use that "excuse" to terminate the call.  :)

Peace...
