is if it was disabled for everyone so we would all have to say what we wanted as ourselves.  Wouldn't that be interesting?

Oops..I meant to put this under the alias thread.  Sorry.

I am in with you all the way on that suggestion!!! I dont rely on the boards anymore because of that reason...I have never used aliases and never will!!  If I have something to say, I say it as myself...those that hide behind masks are those that know they are up to no good.  Just like my mother used to always say...if you are not willing to say something to someone's face...then dont say it behind their back.  Be real and be true to yourself and those around you and life will be SO MUCH SWEETER!
This board is here to make sure hobbyist's dont get ripped off by scammers, and shady agencies, not to talk shit about people or to stir up problems.  It provides safety and a certain level of comfort as a community, but the other stuff should be left off of here.
Hope you are all having a safe, fun and wonderful (DRAMA-FREE, ALIAS-FREE) weekend!!!

Miss Manelli, although I am hanging this response off of your post - I am only doing it as a matter of convinience. People (you, others) have asked for aliases to be banned and it is that total banning that I disagree with.

IMO, aliases can be usefull at times, when used in a friendly manner. But, when used to mask a personal attack, well, they are not.

Some folks may use them to ask a legitimate question about the hobby, others may use them to mask that they have knowledge of a certain subject.

But, they should only be used to contribute to the discourse (or in an attempt to be humerous) and not attack an individual!

Banning aliases bans certain legitimate discourse.

feel if someone isn't ashamed of what they have to say or why they are saying it, using their true name would be a way of seeing ones true colors.  I am just big on character.  That is my thing though I don't want to push that on anyone else.

Can I stay  too?  This  alias  is much nicer than the  "real" person!

I'm cool with you staying (both of you, lol)!

Although it took me soooo long to realize who you are (I'm not always the sharpest tool in the shed), you get high marks for transparancy but low marks for creativity! :-)

I wouldn't have even thought to try.  You are adorable Dorpdom.  You can have as many names as you'd like. You are one of those that stay the same no matter what name he goes by.

In the interest of full disclosure...
All of my alises listed for your refrence(with explanations).

Only three of my aliases have ever been used on the boards...

"salai": The first alias I ever made, used three or four times on the Atlanta boards used in one thread and then a followup thread someone started (I used this so as to not have anyone I was associated with given hell for my opinions or anything..but those that knew it was my alias said everyone could figure it out as I still wrote exactly like me).  It is an anagram of "alias".

"Webbienezer Scrooge": Made for Christmas, used primarily in chat, and once to make a Christmas post on the Genral Discussion Board.

"OB/GYN Kenobi": Made because I liked it...used twice, once in the "Aliases Thread" on the Gerneral Discussion Boards, and once in a thread about the "Aliases Thread" on The General Discussion Boards.

The following have only been used in chat...

"WebWolfie": Wolfie is actually my nickname, I use this name on other boards, and I will use it in chat when anyone is bothered or offened by "WebTerrorist", or when a lot of people in chat are using animal names and aliases.

"WereWebbie" and "WereWolfie": Used during full moons.

"Wevvis":  Created based on a typo someone in chat made when saying hello to me...had to done.

Next three Aliases I have never had occassion to use but have just in case, and I like em.

"NegativeNarcissist": Because it's all about me but in really, really bad ways.

"DaWebbie": Since "Webbie" is what people call me, but has already been taken.

"LeslieBien": A great name and perfect should there ever be a lesbian thread I have to post in, and feel like using an alias.

So there ya have it...all my aliases, so you will always know it's me.  *grin*
