My Dad was career Army, and served 2 tours in Nam. His ssignment never caused him to fire a shot, but his witness of those who had been in combat, only revealed in his latter years, were both terrifying and inspiring. For me, Memorial Day is for those that died in war, but I make sure sure that a shake the hand of everyone I know who has served on Nov, 11th, Veterans Day.
Hats off to everyone in service and best wished to a safe return, and all of our prayers that there are as few as possible more to remember this time next year..
I'm a Air Force brat and this Holiday is a very emotional one for me. My dad who is gone now but did 3 tours in Viet Nam. I know what we went through so my hat is off to all the families and troops who are serving our country now.
