I just got back from Denver and wanted to get your input on something. My reason for going was that The Other Board, a local board such as this, hosted a public party for clients, independents (there they are called ASP's) and Agencies. It was absolutely amazing! There were about 400-500 people there and everyone was having the time of their life! I met so many great people and it really catapulted my business. I'm just wondering if there is any interest in something like that out here. I've hosted a couple of great private parties and am getting ready for another, but I've never done a public party before. There are many independents I'd love to meet and I'm sure the guys would love it if everyone was in the same place at the same time. However, it may not be in anyone's best intereste to be that public. Any thoughts?? Shoot me an email or add it here!
Hi Taylor,
Was done frequently in 2002 encompassing independents and agencies from both the net and private lists. They were fun parties and it was nice to meet new providers and hobbyists as well as see old friends. Last year however there began to be different opinion as to who should go, whether to post public announcements or not, and if these parties were an LE concern or not (even though these were meet-n-greet events only).
Eventually the agencies opted for more private gatherings for their clients only, the independents seemed to lose interest, and parties seemed to splinter into smaller groups. Of course Sheriff Joes activities last year did not help foster an atmosphere that made folks want to gather publicly either ![]()
I do have nice memories of those parties though. We raised quite a bit of money for local charities with them as well.

Hey there Tayor...
What we should do, is arrange a meet and greet over in Rocky Point....that would make for a great party!!!
What are your thoughts...
we could have a few people help arrange it and then meet there. No dates, just a big party....a meet n' greet. If everyone arranges their own travel and we are only going to meet people and have a great time, we should be okay???
Just plan everything a bit low key???
BTW- Taylor, I still have our pics from Rocky Point..that was one HOT trip!!! Body shots, nude sunbathing and lots of dancing and fun!!!
That is still my best trip yet!!
Kisses, Madison
I've had the best times in RP and that trip was one I won't soon forget. My phone number and website is still up on that t-shirt in that bar that we went to - I saw it there last time I was there. I like the idea. Any other's interested??
I belong to a group in Dallas that has get togethers on a monthly basis in a private forum or in a public forum which has a banquet hall that can be rented out. If it is a meet an greet and for charity it might work. Security will always be an issue using a public forum such as this. But Glen is right some years ago it was a great thing. give it a try.
There are a few groups that have events around the country. They can be amazing as you said. I have been fortunate to have been involved in a few ![]()
A public party has inherent security risks. However, a Private part can be more expensive. A private party may draw a different crowd then a public party. Private parties of 200 are not uncommon (as opposed to what I would call "get togethers" of 40 or less). So you can get a good turnout. And accomplish the advertising goals.
There were some challenges here as Glen pointed out (having also gone to those). The "vibe" in Phoenix has been wrong and can be fixed, through cooperation. Safety for all. Less BS. Ladies supporting each other and not being "catty". Guys helping with references. And the scene could then support a great community as you saw in Denver and as happens in Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, etc...
Would love to chat more. Share what I have learned. But "not in public".
If you can get my e-mail addy from here, drop me a note...

That's just the thing. There was no reference checks or anything. There was also no hanky panky going on as it was at a public place where other patrons were. People just went to meet others and have a few drinks. They did have the bar closed off, but it got so crowded that they party spilled out into the rest of the place.
I would suggest you contact Wanderer. He has been involved in planning many events like you are speaking of. I have attended some of those in Dallas and they were quite good. It makes for a great night out and the ladies can market away. Madison makes a good point about doing a meet and greet, just not sure about Rocky Point and how many would make that kind of trip as opposed to something local. You can always rent a meeting room or rent out a restaurant/bar for a hobbyist/provider convention of sorts. Just good fun with nothing going on that could cause a problem. My thoughts.
How did invites go out? If it was done on a public board, then the rule is simple. "No Business talk". They often have them in a public place. Believe it or not, there are events as large as that in private that draw a more discreet crowd. Certain guys will not attend a public event. Ever.
I can tell you a few horror stories of events that co-mingled in public (spill over). IF it is a private room, fine. But a section of a bar is NOT a good idea. Many reasons why...
Peace

If your going to go ahead with something like this please get wanderer (or someone else with some real experience involved). A long time ago well before many of you were "aware" (of hobby on the net)their was a guy who was really active on the original newsgroup (alt.sex.prostitution). His handle was Dick O'stone, he was a great guy and did alot of networking gratis. Anyway he got "on the radar" thru something like this and it cost him his job/house/marriage. I'm not an attorney but I can tell you that all kinds of "charges" can be drummed up. Dick was charged at a federal and state level...yes it's a great idea...but be awful careful...it's a lot riskier than you might realize.
