When things seem to be counterproductive it's time to save time and energy. I no longer have any of the above. Thanks to all who supported it for what it was.

I cant believe it, this sh#t is still going on. I for one was planning on attending, I come back from a gig, and its cancelled. If you dont want to come, dont come, if you do, enjoy yourslf, if your full of drama, leave it at home.

If I recall, there have been at least two of these functions so far with no ill effects except the person that Danny may be referring too is starting alot of un-necessary DRAMA. Like I have always said, dont like it, wont deal with it, if you bring it, I am kicking you to the curb.

The worst part about it was that there was going to be an announcement at that function that only a few privilaged persons know of, and someone goes and spoils it.

How do we stop this from continuing? The drama is driving us all away, and for what? I want to see what others have to say, and everyone is included.

I'm sorry to hear this, Danny. I had thought about maybe actually GOING to this party. Although I do think that these things should NOT be posted on the boards. Maybe a general, "We're gonna have a get together" could be posted, but I think posting the details of the where, when, and why is dangerous, but I've spoken to you about this and about why I think that privately.

In any event, perhaps another will be planned soon and I can go to that party!

Damn it.  I for one was getting excited about this and was really looking forward to seeing everyone - hobbyists and providers included.  I am bummed, but since I am new, I guess I can't get too worked up since I don't know anything about what kind of drama has happened in the past and still continuing now.  Even though I don't know who the lady is that is causing this, I still am getting worked up because she has ruined it for me AND many others too.  Oh well, just keeping my ear to the road for future parties and will have my fingers crossed it works out then.

that one person could ruin something like this?  If so, that one person has been given a hell of a lot of power.  That's right, GIVEN.  I don't think we are hearing the whole story.

If everyone but this one person wanted the party to happen, it would happen.  Why not do what Megan suggests, just have a get together, informal, no published times or places?  Just back channel the info.

The problem isn't just with one person.  There are many providers and hobbysts alike that have been treated badly by Danny and Company.  No one trusts him. Probably better that this party isn't happening because no providers would have been there.  Let's hope that the well-respected providers get together and host a party of their own.  That would be fun.

This really pisses me off. A few people rune it for everyone. I had a blast at the last party there (even tho Danny & I havn't seen eye to eye on all subjects, lol). Lately I been dreading to come into the discussion board.

it is  that makes you such a negative influence on this board.  Everyone is an adult here..if you got problems with Danny....do it face to face instead of on this board....its getting OLD!

A see a real problem here in your thinking. First, who is going to assume the responsibility for doing all this leg work (backchanneling)? Second, who is on that mailing list? A lot of folks here can't receive PMs 'cause they are not VIP members and others are lurkers not posters. Just because someone doesn't post, doesn't mean that they are not active in the community. Third, do you really want to be the person responsible for doing this 'cause if you forget to backchannel with someone they sure as hell are going to be pissed with you. Forth, how do you know that some of the folks who you CAN find on the board and communicate with are NOT LE in the first place? Anyway you cut it in my opinion there are potential problems. Of course, we could just elect to do nothing in the way of meet and greets ever and be totally safe but that would be boring and not much fun.

FYI: Just got a response from Mya (ohmya.com) that she and her friends are not going b/c LE busts and potential attendance.  Any concern on your part?
