A wonderful idea.  I believe this is the only national board that I have experienced alias'.

I've seen some good comments posted, necessary ones, however; it seems as though most of alias' posts are very negative.

Personally as most of you all know i have no use for an alias. i find them to mostly be used to talk crap about someone, or some topic the responder doesnt have the mental fortitude to confront directly. I was curious aobut the communitys thoughts on aliases

I am with you all the way ....why hide? speak your true feelings and just be honest. Now some are clever and cute and if they are harmless no problem....

All I try to do is defend the ladies but soon the big guys will show up to give me some help.

The problem is the 99% who use it merely to abuse the ladies and men they disagree with.

when the post is something with which you disagree.

yet again we have an alias used to say essentially nothing.

If your going to take poshots why do you need an alias?

The Financial Times?  There are no Fact Checkers, Truth-in-Advertising is debatable, and as a good friend of mine (Al Greenspan) mentioned before, even you aren't using your "Christian name" here, now are you?  Internet-based information is largely based on anonymous communication.  Al and I think you really need to lighten up!

As a dear friend of mine pointed out to me by googling moebius8 you can find my real name and an old phone number in short order. Her argument was i should stop using it but its like an old friend......

the argument your attempting to use has no bearing on me at all. ive used the same alias for everything from online gaming to ebay. Ive been moebius8 since 87 on many of the old bbs and fidonet networks.

What it all boils down to is accountability, most of the cowards using aliases wish to avoid any.

Since its been shown time again that giving a person the smallest bit anonynimity will be abused im proposing that the process be revamped to encourage posting from main ids only.

a bit ironic to use an alias to whine about a post to restrict them dont you think....

....and want to share my horny thoughts. I know that if I post under my alter-ego I'd be screening calls  for months.

doesn't end up making a difference...my post is usually pulled and I generally end up on moderated status for several months until I learn how to behave or how to at least keep my cage clean!

; )
