Once upon a time there was a little boy that wanted to spend some special one on one time with his Dad. No one but him and "the most powerful man in the world". So one day he asked his dad if they could go fishing and his dad said he was too busy. Another day past and he asked his dad to go fishing, but again he was too busy. This went on most of the summer until one day the little boy asked his dad again to go fishing and his Dad looked at him and OK lets go!!! The day was spent in the boat with the little boy asking all sorts of questions about the "most powerful man in the world" ...what did he do for fun when he was a little boy, what was his dad like , how did he meet mom, when was thier first kiss, and Dad told the little boy about being a footbal player in  High School(whne they had leather helmets) and his first job and on and on. To the little boy it was the best day in his short life.

That little boy was me. I dont remember what I got for Christmas when I was young, or what my birthday presents were, but I will never forget that day, I can see it in my mind, I can still smell the smell and still hear his voice.

So this Christmas it is my wish that ever child get to spend "special time" with their parents like I did. Oh and tell your parents how much they mean to you before you no longer can!!!

People will forget what you gave them, or said to them, but they will never forget how you made them feel.

PS: there was a provider that canceled a lunch at short notice so that she could take her kids to the fair....now that is a great Mom!!!!
