What in the world has happened to this board? Now before I get flamed I will just say that I am a very experienced hobbiest. I have seen ladies from the agencies here in town and have been seeing one of our most popular indies here in town pretty much exclusively (for me) for a little while now. Just wanted to get that in to handle the "he only has one review and a few posts" objection.

Now I know why I don't participate more on this board. Let me see if I understand this, the following post:

Was the beginning of a long gripe session because the guy who posted it has not seen a provider? I don't care if he asks questions for 10 years, that is the entire purpose of this board, its reason for existing. If you don't like him or his questions, I have a suggestion......DON'T ANSWER THEM!

Now I do think that good ol' Kevin could have been more of a gentleman and not called the ladies "skanks", but I do not entirely blame him for doing so. It seems to have gotten to the point that if you are not a provider or a "well-known" hobbiest and you post on this board, get ready for a cat fight. You better be ready to rumble! And when you are and you don't allow yourself to get pushed around, the flaming is worse. The worst part is, it always seems to be a handful of the same posters, the "usual suspects" if you will.

I remember this board from a few years ago. I have seen it evolve into what it is now, a place to go to bow down to certain provider's and hobbiest's feet, not a place for reliable info and good conversation. This is why I am hesitant to support this board with any of my hard earned dollars. So, have fun and flame away, I am expecting to hear all of the name calling. In the meantime I and the other serious hobbiests and providers will be elsewhere.

If I were moderating this board I would get it under control before it loses all credibility. Many of the posts I used to read were so insightful. There was a large variety of posters and opinions. I am guessing that many of those conscientious hobbiests and providers refuse to post here for some of the very reasons that I outlined above.

I wouldnt use the term "refuse to post" as much as the term "to smart to post"...if it isn't "PC" then it (and you) may not be around for very long...or so it seems.

you will see at least once every month or two someone posts a "what happened to the board" thread.

i'm not going to pretend that i know what this board is supposed to be to you, or to anyone else.

i'm going to make it what i want it to be by posting what i want to post. a crazy idea might be for everyone to do that and as long as everyone is within the posting guidelines set up by ter, i think we'll find that by posting topics that we want to post, the board will be what we want it to be.

but if it smells bad, somebody is probably going to say something and you can blow smoke up our asses all day long stating your right to ask questions and your right to shill but the fact is, staff isnt going to tolerate anyone abusing the rules and i'm pretty sure they've seen enough to know the difference between legitimate posts and blatently obvious abuse of the rules. .

Ah yes....one of the usual suspects maybe? What if the way you want the board to be is not the way most "reasonable posters" want it? I say fine to your suggestion that people post what they like within the rules. The problem with that is that when they do, they have to tolerate being flamed and put down by certain people who think they own this board.

You can try to tell me I am lame all you want, but if you read the post that inspired this post, I would think that I wouldn't need to explain things further. The board has degenerated to nothing but a few posters trying to rule how everyone posts. So, no matter how many "what happened to the board" messages have been posted, obviously the intent of those messages and posters is not reaching the desired audience and that "reasonable posters" are not happy with the current "state of the board".

What is truly lame is trying to deflect the message that I tried to put out so certain people can continue with their antics.

Nice try though trying to be witty while defending the indefensible. Maybe better luck next time?

Who is re-hashing? All you have to do is scroll down the the first page of the board to see what I am talking about. It is not like I went back 6 months or anything.

Something else that I just thought of, did you notice how in my initial post I believed that it was necessary to cite my provider experience? It occurs to me that I believed that I had to do that because of the recent tone of this board. I knew that if I did not, I would be attacked IMMEDIATELY.

If that is not an indication of something being wrong, I do not know what would be.

Another question, are you trying to tell me how and what to post? Just curious because that also seems to be another issue at this time on the board. I did not realize that there was more than one moderator.

These types of posts won't be necessary as soon as all posters feel free to post what they like (within the rules) on the board without fear of being attacked or flamed.

I have a little trouble following your reasoning here. You applaud insightful posts and diverse opinion and lament name calling and undue flaming. I'm with you so far. But you advocate "getting the board under control" to deal with the problem.

This is really nothing more than a code word for censorship. Don't like it and don't think it's necessary. I find it hard to believe that name calling and flaming really causes a significant number of posters to stop posting. You need to have a little thicker skin than that.

I also don't get the frequent derision that Ana receives. Now I only read this Board occasionally but she seems to be exactly the kind of poster that keeps the Board healthy- feisty, not afraid to express a minority view, undaunted by attacks, sometimes way off base, and sometimes insightful. But you seem to view her as part of the problem.

The Phoenix board is actually one of my favorites to read because the posting is of much higher quality than other boards. Have you looked at the S.F. board lately? Nothing but ads.

But I hope you reconsider your plan to "be elsewhere" because
posts like yours and Ana's are exactly what the Board needs to prosper.

I have not tried to shut anyone up and I challenge you to show where I have. Your repeated posts though prove my point. Thanks for the help. I will admit I am wrong when you admit there is a problem on this board and that you are wrong. If someone can convince me that the treatment of Kev was warranted, then I will stand corrected.

Did you get all of that? Yes, maybe it does sound fishy, maybe it does not. I have never said anyone could not question anyone about anything. we are just uncertain why he keeps asking if he's not using the information he's being given and why is he asking if by his own admission he doesnt have the money saved to act upon the information.

since he's always asking about girls from the same agency, is he a reporter, or le, is he obsessed with the agency ?

is he investigating them or something ?

if he's not hobbying why does he want all this info ?

he's been told repeatedly by other hobbyists to contact scott .. every time he posts, he's told how to get the information he's seeking and instead of taking that advice, he posts another inquiry a few weeks later.


just because a person can, doesnt mean that they should. .. but if they do, they might be questioned as to the intent behind their posts.

as a community, thats how we watch out for each other.
