A biochemist at ASU invented a new kind of condom

This new condom is said to be more skin-like and therefore it enhances pleasure.

Not only that, but the article actually says they need to do clinical trials, and the process will be long and hard.  Well that part goes without saying.

Very cool. Might be a great investment if it works.

But, I'm suspicious of a membrane that is hydrophilic.  I wonder how good the barrier actually is.

A little condom history.

A Scotsman invented the first condom. It was made out of a sheep's intestine.

Not too long after, the British improved on it by first removing the intestine from the sheep.

Was wondering about exactly the same thing. Obviously this guy is a lot smarter than me, but as I remember bio class, whenever water soaks into something it can bring tiny things (viruses for example) with it. I hope the testing is honest and thorough, and I hope these things pass with flying colors!

It also could be a funding scam.  
I hope  not, perhaps there could be a non porous layer.  Hmm, sounds a little iffish.
