Re: Value of Negative Tests

They still don't seem to be certain you can't get it a second time.

I find with Arizona's covid rate as high as it is I am concerned about hobbying in the age of corona,  I don't want to catch the virus nor do I want to share the virus should I be asymptomatic. I assume there are concerns on both sides of the issue.

I think I am too close to too many vulnerable people.

If I was more able to keep to myself I would not worry about catching it. I would ride it out at home. Talk is cheap though. No chance I would consent to be intubated.

I try to support small business. Tipping more than usual. It's hard to justify increasing the risk to the non-consenting people with which I am in contact.

I had a little fun with a mask on a few days ago. But thinking I'll shut it down for a while.

Totally valid concern! Personally, I work in the healthcare industry so I'm tested every single week and I would never play in the hobby if I felt there was an ounce of concern. Just sayin.

We get the question! It is totally something we all need to be aware of. Honestly, thought AZ's rates are not out of line with other states (we are creeping back up, but so is everyone). Please be careful and honest with each other. It is really no different than going to the store or work or whatever. If you are under the weather, get tested and error on the side of caution. If you are in good health then live your life. You never know how much time you have so don't hide at home (but be smart and alert).

PS, we monitor this very closely and given our personal lives are getting tested so we know we are safe to see :-)

If there was a way somebody could show they had Covid-19 and fully recovered - that might be worth something. A negative test is certainly no guarantee. Just my opinion.

They still don't seem to be certain you can't get it a second time.

There was also some research reported of out one of the major universities in London last week (I can't remember which one at the moment) showing that antibodies that develop when one has been infected and fallen ill have also disappeared in many subjects they tested. So yeah, that means that some people may be able to get it again.

I also know that there are a lot of people citing also sorts of conflicting data on masks, social distancing, etc. For me, it's about choosing the less-risky option.

Clearly the government manufactured this virus, in conspiracy with China, in order to reduce retirement payments paid out.  China is funding the retirement system in the USA and it has already found that it is not sustainable and more retired people who die they automatically loose their payments.  Thus, in order to keep the retirement system financially sound it all makes sense.

However, I do not subscribe to the validity of this virus as being any more dangerous than bacteria such as strep and other sinus bacteria and most can be treated with antibiotics - however, the medical system is denying prescribing antibiotics and keeping them for only the rich and powerful.  Therefore wearing masks is a good thing since many people have poor consideration and sneeze or cough on others and the mask is good due to generally inconsiderate folks.

I can't get Covid so I guess I don't think about it but it's ok to be conscience of the people around you while do anything not just hobbying. Don't be afraid to ask the lady to wear a mask or if she wants you to wear one. But certainly don't be afraid of your shadow either.

You can still get it even if you have had it before.  The immunity only lasts around 3-6 months which means the entire immunization scheme is going to be a cluster fuck.  Multiple immunizations probably twice per year indefinitely until the virus goes away or people stop worrying about it.  Additionally, I foresee an uptick in tonsillectomies which have been declining in recent decades as people with tonsil will probably have a worse sore throat than others.

More sinus surgeries will probably be needed and people should stop smoking asap.  We need to make sure all buildings are non smoking including apartments, as one apartment smoke can travel to another.  Hopefully all the smokers can be forced to live in tents and then their apartment units re-allocated to nonsmokers as part of a covid plan.

We have been isolated with the stay at home order & virtual learning is a joke. I have used up all my savings staying at home this year. I have not been working, but I need too. I do not want to risk bringing home covid to my small kids. We all tested negative, so I am in Phoenix visiting mi familia. I don't want to get my dear old Mom sick either. 2020 has been a long & tuff year. I lost my Daddy this year & do not want to loose my Mama too.

I do not think that there is a right, or wrong answer. Do what is best for your life situation. I will gladly wear a mask during any session booked if that is what is preferred to lower risks. i ventured out to create other options on my site that do not involve meeting in person. Adapt.
