Have fun in Ventura!!

I'm in town for the week, staying near Old Town Scottsdale. I'm enjoying the hobby, but still like the thrill of the hunt and would like to check out some really good meat market type bars in the area.
I'm a 40 year, clean cut businessman, no I'm not looking for the dance clubs full of 20 something college kids. What I am looking for is more casual, a good watering hold that maybe has live music. Looking for that place with more mature gals, ie... the 30's and 40's crowd full of single and or divorcees who are out and know what they want.
Any suggestions as to places and what nights would be greatly appreciated.
and I have yet to find a good place for that kind of activity
Since it is so close to ASU in Tempe, most places are for a younger crowed unless you want to go to a nice restaurant (where the teenagers can't afford to go) however if you go further north, you will have plenty places around the Kierland area in N. Scottsdale.
My place is always a great place to hunt though, and I am close ![]()

Thanks Anna. Not familiar with the Kierland area. What are the crosstreets? Any places in particular? Who knows, maybe we will run into each other??
I think Thursday is the day to go to N. Scottsdale. I would say Barcelona, which has excellent food, great music (however after 10:30pm the band play live music, but more dance/disco) but the band is great and they have a total of 4 huge bar areas. Another place where they serves the best Martinis (you will get the whole shaker for the price of one martini, even though you end up with two) would be Ocean Club which has the same owners as City Hall that Victoria spoke about. Cross Streets for Ocean Club would be Greenway/Scottsdale Rd (NW corner in the big Kierland Mall) and Barcelona is at Scottsdale and Greenway-Hayden (just across from Kierland Mall) which is East of Scottsdale Rd.
City Hall and Oceanclub serves the same steaks and most f the other food however Ocean Club also serves excellent seafood, however I always found Barcelona to have better seafood and after they changed chef very recently their food is even better than before.
If you are out there to hunt I do recommend Barcelona, no place is better for that.
If you need directions you can always call me. I will be happy to assist you.
Good luck ![]()

Eli's American Grill is at Scottsdale Road and Shea.
The exact address is 7000 E. Shea. On the north side of the road set back a bit in a shopping center. They have live music - great band and most certainly an older crowd. I have always had a great time when there. The # is 480-948-9800.
Enjoy but you know you can always call on any of us and I am sure we could "play hard to get" and let you give us a good chase.

Guess I would have to say that's the tastiest looking restaraunt recommendation yet!!
When you find what you're looking for, call us. Our flying bedroom is a heck of a lot more fun than any hotel room! And don't forget to ask about our "hobby" special!!
Long story. I'll tell you about it sometime.
Hugs,
Ciara
I would also recommend the Sky Bar at the Mondrian or Don & Charlies. Old town is full of young people but if you hit those places, you might just get lucky. Further North is Sapporo, Ocean Club, Devils Martini North and Barcelona - they are real meat market places.
If you need any help, let us know!

Gee Taylor, I haven't bumped into you for a while.
Is Olive and Ivy the resturaunt on Camelback? What's the place like?
Yes, at the Scottsdale Waterfront. And it is filled with beautiful people ages 25 and up. It is kind of the big thing right now. People usually go there first then end up at the Sky Bar at the Mondrian.
Well, not actually hiding, more like traveling a bit. I'm back now for awhile so I'm sure I'll bump into you somewhere soon!
It was very nice to see everyone again last night. We need to do that more often! I miss you!
